The Apple Watch has been confirmed to go on sale next month, and as if we needed any more proof of that revelation, the device has now passed through the FCC, receiving all clearance to hit retail shelves in the United States.
The Apple Watch is yet to hit the shelves next month, but accessories are dropping in by the minute after the company officially announced the wearable's price and release date almost a week back. Enter - Nomad Pod, the charging dock which also happens to be a portable power station for Apple's new wearable. With a construction that is suggested as being impeccable, head over the jump to see if this accessory is worthy of being coupled with the Apple Watch.
When it comes to the packaging of its hardware, Apple’s train of thought seems to reflect that of the devices themselves. Where the company is embroiled in something of a battle with the rest of the industry to continually downsize the likes of the iPhone and MacBook, it also seems locked in a more personal effort to reduce packaging, which often saves money and spares the environment in the process. The Next Big Thing out of Cupertino will be the Apple Watch, which is slated for launch on April 24th, and now, we may have a glimpse of some packagings of the wearable.
As you may well be aware by now, the introduction of iOS 8.2 brought with it a shiny new stock app, dedicated purely to the the Cupertino company's first new product in the last five years, the Apple Watch. The new "Apple Watch" app is designed and offered as a companion kit to work alongside and get the most out of Apple's new smartwatch, but at the moment, is pretty useless without an actual physical Watch to pair with it. Thankfully, in a similar fashion to the recently revealed Apple Watch Activity app, developer Hamza Sood has managed to bypass this restriction and has posted screenshots of the app in its entirety.
As the Cupertino giant plans to take the Apple Watch to display exhibits next month ahead of the actual launch date, it is looking to expand the wearable's display booths beyond just Apple Retail Stores. Photos of displays being set up in Paris at the Galeries Lafayette have just been leaked, where Apple plans on putting its new smartwatch lineup up for display. Head over the jump for further details.
iOS 8.2 has been out for a couple of days now, and as we wait for Apple Watch's arrival in order to really dig into the build's core new features, one developer has already begun hunting for clues. Having looked beneath the surface of iOS 8.2, he has found that the 'Activity' app is a native offering, and the reason it is hidden from the masses at this moment is because it's programmed to pop up after the first time an Apple Watch is connected.
Want a nice, customized band for your brand new Apple Watch? Is Apple's latest creation just missing something special before it truly finds a place in your heart? How about a customized band with photos of your loved ones on it? Or maybe just photos of Tim Cook and Bono doing that weird E.T. pose from last year?
There seems to be some chatter about Apple's use of time when showing off the Apple Watch and, importantly, the reason behind it. But first, a little background.
In a move that probably shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone, it appears that Apple has ceased selling wrist-worn health products in both its retail and online Apple Store. With the Apple Watch set to go on sale next month, removing items that compete with some of its competition seems to be the reason, at least in part.
The second announcement of the Apple Watch earlier this week has got the tech world into a bit of a frenzy, but Apple won't be the only beneficiary of the hype. Chinese companies are preparing to launch Apple Watch-alike devices of their own, and as you might imagine, they're way lot cheaper.
