Unless you have been living under a rock or something, you already know what Antennagate is all about. The problem came into light when iPhone 4 was launched in June of this year. It occurs when you hold your phone in a way which covers the antenna, resulting in signal loss, poor reception and dropped calls. And now the latest Android sensation of Verizon, the newly released Motorola Droid 2 falls victim to it.
Android does have a few good Twitter clients out there in the Market, including the official Twitter for Android app but TweetDeck for Android has been one of the most awaited Twitter client for Android platform. For those of you who don’t know, TweetDeck is one of the most popular Twitter client out there, available on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and now finally on Android.
Here’s something interesting which might spark up your sex life. According to a research performed by OkCupid, iPhone users get laid twice as much as Android users. And so with that in mind, you now have yet another good reason to get an iPhone.
We somewhat expected this to happen and the numbers have just poured in. According to a report by NPD Group, Android is now the number one selling smartphone OS in the United States, outselling both the iPhone's iOS and RIM's BlackBerry OS in the second quarter.
If his recent Facebook activity has to be believed, than Facebook’s founder and CEO might have just ditched his iPhone for Android. It was only last month when Mark made the headlines for switching to iPhone (it was 3GS, not iPhone 4) from BlackBerry. But the experience wasn’t all that great as he posted about his frustrations with the device, citing poor battery life, and phone calling quality. He also said that he will get the new iPhone 4 and see if that solves all his problems before switching to Android.
The United States government today has announced that jailbreaking and unlocking iPhones, rooting of Android phones and ripping DVDs (for educational purposes) is completely legal as long as they are not violating copyright law. Jailbreaking and Unlocking of iPhones has never been illegal, it was just that Apple had strict policies right from the start which prohibited users from installing apps on their device which were not approved by Apple, along with locking the phone so that it can be used on one carrier only.
Nexus One keeps getting the best and latest stuff before any other Android handset, and why not when it is the only Google branded phone out there! Google today has delivered yet another OTA update for Nexus One users. The rollout of this new Build FRF91 has started already and so don’t panic and wait patiently until the update is available for your phone.
Remember when we informed you last time about Android port which was in works for HTC HD2? Well guess what? Just like the Android port for iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G, it is now a reality on HD2 too, with Android 2.1 dual booting side by side with Ubuntu Linux “'Karmic Koala”, and Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC Sense. Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of Facebook is not at all pleased by his brand new iPhone (not iPhone 4) which he only got last week. He posted about his frustrations with the device on his Facebook wall that within a week of getting the device, he has already got himself a bunch of chargers and a landline to move his Apple device from one place to other, and to actually make phone calls. Yes, he was clearly complaining about the battery life and phone calling quality.
