Possible Photos Of Apple’s New Braided Lightning Cable For iPhone 12 Leak Online

With Apple set to launch the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in a matter of days it looks increasingly likely that we will see a new braided Lightning cable come in the box. There won’t be an AC adapter if rumors are correct, though.

The lack of an adapter looks increasingly likely now that Apple Watches don’t come with a charger in the box, but the good news is that we look set to get a fancy new cable.

A braided Lightning cable has appeared in photos online before, and now the oft-correct Mr-white on Twitter has shared more images.

Interestingly, the photos show a Lightning connect with a USB-C connector on the other end. With Apple saying that it expects Apple Watch owners to already have AC adapters at home, that might not fly if it expects people to already have USB-C adapters. After all, even last year’s iPhone 11 shipped with a USB-A AC adapter in the box.

The move to a braided cable might be enough to cheer most people up, despite the lack of an adapter.

Apple’s standard Lightning cables have a history of falling apart and a braided construction should stop that. Or, at least, reduce the risk. We’ll have to see just how this cable pans out to be sure.
