We all know that the fourth generation iPhone is already in the pipeline. The real question is that when will it make an appearance? and what features will it have on offer. There has been all sorts of rumors lately revolving around hardware and software capabilities of the next generation iPhone. Some of them make sense, others don't.

An anonymous iPhone app developer has dropped a hint today to CNET, stating that he has submitted an updated version of his app for iPhone OS 4.0 to Apple App Store for approval. This hint surely indicated towards a possibility where Apple might have already sent out the said firmware to a selected pool of testers.

According to a new patent application filed by Apple Computer Inc., the new and upcoming iPhone OS could offer contact icons on the home screen. These icons can be used to invoke apps, retrieve and display contacts information, or can be modified to display related info, tied to an individual contact. According to the sources at Digitimes, Microsoft is set to launch Windows Mobile 6.6 (codename Maldives) sometime in February of this year. If this rumor regarding Windows Mobile 6.6 turns out to be true, then we could see it debut as early as next month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
After the targeted cyber attacks on human right activists Gmail accounts that originated in China, the dismayed authorities at Google has threatened to withdraw its services from China, saying that it can no longer censor its search results on the Chinese version of Google homepage i.e. Google.cn. Google, in a detailed blog post said that if it is unable to find a way to operate an unfiltered search engine within the Chinese law, which currently requires it to block access to millions of websites, it will have no option but to close its operations in China.
A new promotional ad by Intel, which was sent out to US, UK and Spanish members of Intel Retail Edge Program has highlighted the upcoming Intel Core i5 powered MacBook Pro by Apple. Just came across this thread on XDA-Developers forum where a forum member got a reply from HTC regarding Windows Mobile 7 upgrade for HD2. The member in question enquired HTC via email on whether or not HD2 will be getting the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 as a free upgrade. This was the reply he got from a representative at HTC.
Google officially unveiled the much hyped Nexus One phone to public on January 5th. Those of you who were lucky enough to live in US, UK, Hong Kong or Singapore could immediately order the said phone and have it shipped within 24-48 hours of purchase. Most of the international users were left out in cold, wondering where and how could they get their hands on this new Android handset.
