Last month at E3, Microsoft refreshed its Xbox 360 lineup by releasing the all new super quiet Xbox 360 S. This model, which was introduced at E3 was basically a 250GB model with refreshed design, built-in WiFi-N, a dedicated port for Kinect (formerly Project Natal), and more. And as it was widely assumed and predicted, Microsoft today has confirmed that there is going to be a new Xbox 360 Arcade SKU with 4GB internal flash memory, and it will go on sale on August 3rd for US $199.99. Microsoft’s new and revolutionary Kinect for Xbox 360 controller with free Kinect Adventures game will be available in November for US $149.99, while the Xbox 360 Arcade + Kinect bundle will be available in this holiday season for US $299.99.
The iPhone hacker behind sn0wbreeze, f0recast and BlackBreeze today has announced Sn0wbreeze V2.0 which promises to jailbreak iOS 3.1.x, 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1 Beta. Sn0wbreeze 2.0 will support: iPhone 3GS (old bootrom pwned on iOS 4.x, and new bootrom pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs), iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2G (non-MC model, and already jailbroken on iOS 4.x), and iPod touch 3G and 2G (MC model) pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs. While there is no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) on the release yet, but there is no reason why it shouldn’t be soon.
MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has managed to unlock his iPhone 4 by a different method than the one shown by Planetbeing (of Android port for iPhone fame) last week. Apparently, there are three methods by which iPhone 4 baseband can be unlocked. The first one was used by Planetbeing and was demonstrated last week. Microsoft has started sending out first of Windows Phone 7 devices built by Samsung and LG to developers to help them test their apps on actual handsets rather than emulators. However it is to be noted that these devices are for testing purposes only, running Technical Preview version of Windows Phone 7. While these devices maybe close to production units, but they aren't the final thing yet. Check out the videos after the break.
Sherif Hashim, the guy who found the exploit to unlock 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 baseband on iPhones running iOS 4 is back with a video, which shows us how to activate iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G without the original SIM card. You can use any SIM card you like ! iPhone 4 users though will have to cut SIM to micro-SIM card size before using it.
With Sn0wbreeze 1.8 for Windows, you can now create custom firmware files of iOS 4.1 Beta for iPod touches which are already jailbroken on iOS 4.x. Currently, only iPhone 3GS (old bootrom pwned on iOS 4.x, and new bootrom pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs), iPod touch 2G (non-MC model, and already jailbroken on iOS 4.x), and iPod touch 3G and 2G (MC model) pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs are supported. So if you qualify any of these requirements, then you are good to go for a iOS 4.1 Beta jailbreak with sn0wbreeze 1.8. iPhone 3G users will have to jailbreak using Redsn0w, guide for which is posted here.

There is now an unofficial version of PwnageTool out in the wild which can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (with old bootrom and already pwned on 3.1.2) on the latest iOS 4.0.1 firmware. The creators of the original PwnageTool has confirmed that this version has been modified and redistributed without their permission, and most importantly, it doesn’t patches some important files which are required for the ultrasn0w unlock to work properly.
iOS 4.0.1 was released earlier today for iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. Fortunately for all iPhone unlockers, the baseband wasn’t upgraded from 05.13.04, which means you can unlock your iPhone even on the latest iOS 4.0.1 firmware. Since currently there is no jailbreak tool available for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), and the current jailbreak tools for iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) are not compatible with iOS 4.0.1, so the only device which can currently be jailbroken and unlocked on iOS 4.0.1 is iPhone 3G.
