We all know why Geohot left the whole jailbreak scene. He has already deleted his Twitter account, and his blog is set to invite-only viewing only. However before deleting his Twitter account, Geohot said to follow his friend Mike Cohen for all the future updates on jailbreak. He also said that “perhaps one of these days i’ll do a more formal goodbye”. And now it looks like he is probably going to make a comeback (perhaps for the last time?) with a new tool to jailbreak all iOS devices once and for all. This is what his friend mikecohenn wrote today:
After a long wait, iPad version of “YourTube” has finally arrived on Cydia by the name of “YourTube HD”. For those of you who don’t know, YourTube is a popular program for jailbroken iOS devices which can be used to save or download videos from YouTube right on your iPhone, iPod touch and now even on iPad !

We have already seen iPad installed in the cars, being used in restaurants as menu cards, and how some airlines are thinking about adopting it as an inflight entertainment system for its passengers in the skies. But how about a popular movie director using iPad to direct his upcoming movie? Sounds cool isn’t it?
With Sn0wbreeze 1.8 for Windows, you can now create custom firmware files of iOS 4.1 Beta for iPod touches which are already jailbroken on iOS 4.x. Currently, only iPhone 3GS (old bootrom pwned on iOS 4.x, and new bootrom pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs), iPod touch 2G (non-MC model, and already jailbroken on iOS 4.x), and iPod touch 3G and 2G (MC model) pwned on 3.1.2 or with 3.1.2 SHSH blobs are supported. So if you qualify any of these requirements, then you are good to go for a iOS 4.1 Beta jailbreak with sn0wbreeze 1.8. iPhone 3G users will have to jailbreak using Redsn0w, guide for which is posted here.
Sn0wbreeze 1.8 has been released. This is by the same developer who is behind other popular iPhone jailbreak tools such as sn0wbreeze 1.6 and 1.7 for iOS 4, sn0wbreeze for iPhone 3.1.3, f0recast and BlackBreeze. Just like the PwnageTool for Mac, Sn0wbreeze 1.8 can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (old bootrom, and already pwned on iOS 4.x), iPod touch 2G (non MC model) and iPod touch 3G on iOS 4.1 Beta. iPhone 3G users will have to jailbreak using Redsn0w, guide for which is posted here.
