Having remote access to your mobile device can be an invaluable tool, particularly if you happen to misplace or lose said device and wish to increase the probability of its safe return. We've featured many such apps here at Redmond Pie, and another interesting effort for Android users has just popped up over at the XDA-Developers forums. Called SMS Tasks, it offers much more in terms of functionality than other such apps, and all this control can be yielded by sending basic SMS commands. Full details after the jump!
With Apple currently working on iOS 7 beta and offering bi-weekly beta releases for developers to test, it's easy to forget that it is not the only operating system that Apple has on the fire. OS X Mavericks 10.9 is also under development inside Apple's Cupertino HQ, and it too is currently available to developers as part of the company's Developer Preview program.
Twitter today went on the update offensive, with both its mobile and desktop apps receiving new version numbers. Not content with giving the Mac version of its app some new features, Twitter has also seen fit to update both its iOS and Android apps also. We are quickly approaching that time of the year whereby Apple's supply chains begin leaking clues on the Cupertino's upcoming products, and while the iPad 5 is apparently set for a September release, the purported iPad mini may not be ready in time, probably releasing later on in the year.
Having the ability to natively share an internet connection from mobile to other personal devices for free is definitely a beneficial feature that comes in handy at differing times. However, as handy as the feature is, some users often find themselves infuriated when they realize that their carriers have either disabled the feature or want to charge a premium on top of their current plan to use it.
The App Store feels like it has been around forever, or at least it does to this long-time iPhone user. To mark the occasion, several big-name developers have made their games and apps free, and although you may not recognize all of the titles involved in the promotion, there are certainly some gems here.

Whilst the aluminum build of the iPhone 5 provides a very strong base, the glass on the back and screen are all too easily broken.
iOS 7, even in its current beta stage, has drawn its fair share of criticism from those who've interacted with it, and although there have been some crumbs of positivity, plenty have stepped out to question some of the alterations from iOS 6. A clip recently posted to YouTube rather humorously magnifies some of these shortcomings, with a baby confidently using iOS 6 before looking at another device running iOS 7 with a degree of confusion.
