GTA 5 Breaks A Mammoth Seven Guinness World Records

Ben Reid·October 9, 2013
Even after a lengthy push-back that saw the initial Spring release wind up being delayed until September, we always knew Grand Theft Auto 5 was going to be a success story. What we were not perhaps aware of, however, was just how successful, and in counting up some of the numbers just a few weeks after the initial launch, we can now say unequivocally that GTA 5 is by far the biggest title to launch on any digital platform. Ever.

iPhone 5s And 5c Launching In Over 50 More Countries By November 1, Here Is The Complete List

Ben Reid·October 9, 2013
The iPhone 5c and in particular, the flagship iPhone 5s seem to have gone down very well with consumers in those initial launch nations, but while the latter has been in very short supply in the likes of the United States, Hong Kong and Australia, many other countries have yet to see the device hit shelves and online retailers. This all looks set to change very soon, though, and in just over three weeks, dozens more will see both handsets, bringing the grand total of official launch nations to more than 50 by November 1st.

There's been a significant amount of speculation whether or not Samsung is on the verge of announcing a device with a curved display. We've been treated to leaked information from internal sources as well as the odd sneak previews of the device for good measure, but now we have official word that the smartphone does indeed exist. Samsung themselves have announced that the Galaxy Round is in production and will be released almost immediately in Korea.

It’s Official: Microsoft Office For iPad With Touch Optimized UI Coming Soon

Ben Reid·October 9, 2013
It has taken a fairly long time for Microsoft's Office suite to reach the mobile scene, and even though the launches for iOS and Android are now official, the Redmond company neglected to bring support for Apple's iPad right off the bat. Outgoing Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has assured iPad users that touch support for the larger displays of Apple's iDevice is forthcoming, adding that work is "in progress," and that users can still access Office Web Apps using their browser.

This Is Samsung’s Curved Smartphone [Photos]

Ben Reid·October 9, 2013
It's becoming a very common occurrence that prominent revealer of tech goodies Evleaks keeps coming up with legit shots of new devices before they're launched, and with the blogosphere abuzz pertaining Samsung's curved "Galaxy Round" device, that same Twitter handle has come through with the first renders of the elusive device. Set to become the first smartphone with a flexible panel, it will not only be more comfortable when held beside the face for calls, but gaming and watching video clips should also be enhanced. More details, as well as those renders, can be seen after the jump.

Oliver Haslam·October 9, 2013

iPhone 5c Meets .50 Cal Rifle; Filmed On iPhone 5s In Slo-Mo! [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·October 9, 2013
The guys over at the YouTube channel RatedRR make a living destroying some of our favorite gadgets for fun, and having already shown the rather prectable outcome of .50 cal-meets-iPhone-5s, the gang are back causing devastation to the iPhone 5c. As most of you will be aware, the cheaper device is quite similar physically to its flagship counterpart, and aside from a few key internal alterations, the most obvious difference is the fact that it features a plastic shell. Although this is certainly a robust material, it's no match for the .50 cal rifle of the RatedRR team's inventory, and in something of a morbid twist, the whole event was shot using an iPhone 5s.

International Users Can Now Buy Google Chromecast Dongle, Here’s How

Paul Morris·October 9, 2013
The Google Chromecast was originally announced back in July this year, but the 2.83-inch dongle has already managed to notch up a number of fans. The ability to stream high-definition content over a Wi-Fi or local network is obviously something that appeals to the masses. For the first time since the original announcement, it looks like those international fans can start getting their hands on the device as Amazon.com has announced the availability of international Chromecast shipping.

This 18kt Gold HTC One Will Cost You $4,400

Aatif·October 8, 2013
The newly-released iPhone 5s comes in three distinct colors - a first for the Cupertino company - one of which has been dubbed as the “Gold” iPhone. The champagne colored device does closely resemble a shade of the precious metal, but calling it “Gold” seems to have ticked off some people in Taiwan. Hence, HTC has come up with their own version of a gold HTC One - not just in color, but actually 18-carat gold used for coating the device.

WhatsApp For iOS 7 Leaks In The Wild [Screenshots]

Ben Reid·October 8, 2013
As well as bringing a plethora of new features and options to its user base, iOS 7 also carried a visual overhaul, with most of the UI elements having been altered in what has been an extermination job on the previously omni-present skeuomorphism. As such, developers have been readily updating their apps to comply with the new look, and while many of the major devs have already pushed their new, aesthetically adjusted versions, the famed cross-platform WhatsApp Messenger remains very much in the era of iOS 6. New leaked screenshots, however, offer a flavor of what could be in store once that update does finally make the App Store, and just like the Messages app, it appears clean and in-keeping with the rest of the OS.
