Although we have a fairly good idea of what Apple has in the offing with regards to software thanks to the recent announcement of iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite, we're still very much in the dark as to what new devices the Cupertino will roll out later this year. The headlines may have been dominated with speculation pertaining to the likes of the iWatch and iPhone 6, but both the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display are expected to be treated to a customary refresh. Today, a new video takes a mockup of the next-gen iPad Air and compares it with the current model, and although the changes appear to be subtle, we can expect the already-svelte device to become even thinner this time around.
Given that iOS 8 is already in its second beta, some of the features announced at WWDC are starting to take shape, and naturally, jailbreak developers have sought to emulate some of iOS 8's treasures by recreating them for those on the current iOS 7. The jailbreak scene has a rich tradition of releasing jailbreak tools for Mac OS X initially, with a Windows / Linux roll-out following shortly thereafter. However, the Pangu jailbreak collective from China turned the scene on its head in more than one way with the recent release of their untethered jailbreak for iOS 7.1.x, and given its Windows-only nature, many folks were left scrambling around trying to locate an old PC. Pangu did promise that a Mac edition would be forthcoming, though, and it has since come to light that the team is currently working to deliver on its promise.
The Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 7.1 / 7.1.1 has meant that every single version of Apple's latest firmware is jailbreakable using one method or another, and although the impromptu nature of this release - coupled with one or to controversies - has put some folks off, it actually makes sense to now update to iOS 7.1.1 and re-jailbreak using Pangu.
Google's I/O developers conference is just hours away, and for a number of months, it has been speculated that the Big G would take the wraps off the next sugary-sweet flavor of Android.
