As is often the case with new Apple products, there was a manic rush for pre-orders of the Apple Watch when it was first made available to reserve back on April 10th. Historically, those who manage to get in early get their devices before those lagging behind, and within hours of the pre-orders beginning, many customers were reporting estimated shipping dates of 4-6 weeks. Some were even told that June would be a ballpark ETA for a product that hits the mass market on April 24th, but much to the surprise of some, the status of some of these orders has changed to "Preparing for Shipment" - a very pleasant surprise for those who may have prepared for a long wait.

If it seems like you can't open a webpage these days without it being full of Apple Watch news then, well, you're probably just going to have to come to terms with that for the next few days at least. Apple's first wearable goes on sale this coming Friday, and it's causing quite the stir. With three models to choose from it's not always easy to make that particular buying decision, and if you are concerned about the durability of your smartwatch then things are particularly complicated because the cheaper Apple Watch Sport comes with a different screen to the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition.
