Following up to his untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 demo, pod2g has answered one very important question regarding the jailbreak’s support for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Check out the details after the jump!

Pod2g’s tweets answer the two most asked questions regarding his untethered jailbreak for iOS 5: #1 Does it work for iOS 5.0.1? #2 Does it work for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S?
The answer to both these questions is, sadly, at the moment: no, the untethered jailbreak shown in pod2g’s video was on iOS 5.0, and it doesn’t support the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S as yet.
Tons of questions from my nice followers. Too early to answer. Will work on iOS 5.0.1, will try iPad 2 and 4S after others are ready.

The good news however is that he is likely going to make it work on iOS 5.0.1 before release. Pod2g has also stated that he doesn’t have an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to actually work on the untethered jailbreak. Perhaps one of you can send one his way so that work on the jailbreak can begin.
But… I don’t own a 4S nor I an iPad 2.
We now know a little more about pod2g’s untethered jailbreak. He mentioned that he will work on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S after “others” are ready. This, in all probability, means that the upcoming untethered jailbreak will support devices like the iPod touch 3G/4G, iPhone 3GS/4 and OG iPad on iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 as well (once he has tested on it).
Until the untethered jailbreak is released, our only option is to jailbreak tethered on iOS 5 using Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze. Once you’re jailbroken with either tool, we recommend installing the SemiTether package which allows you to reboot your device with limited functionality until you can get access to a Mac or PC. Those of you on iOS 5.0.1 can similarly use Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze, or Ac1dSn0w for semi-tethered jailbreak.
