It’s Happening: 2018 iPhone Keynote Event ‘Gather Round’ Officially Announced By Apple

After weeks and weeks of speculation and conjecture, Apple has finally issued official invites to its September 12, 2018, iPhone event. As with most years, we’ve known for a while when the event will be held, but it’s finally official with invites landing in the inboxes of invited delegates, right now!

So, for those who have been waiting for these invites to land in order to find out about the particulars of this year’s iPhone event, let us jump straight into the important elements of the media event.

As previously mentioned, and as highlighted by the event invite itself, this year’s iPhone announcement will take place on September 12, 2018, at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT). As for location, gone are the days when Apple has to look outside of its own buildings to house all of the media and invited individuals in attendance. Like last year’s event, the 2018 iPhone announcement will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater within the Apple Park campus, Cupertino

As it stands, all of the announcements which will be made at this year’s event are largely unknown. We know we will likely get the Golden Master seeds of iOS 12, macOS Mojave, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5. We know we will see a slew of new iPhones but we don’t know the intricate details of those devices. We know Tim Cook and his executive team will talk about Apple’s business and recent performance.

There may be blanks in what will be announced but we definitely know that the event will stir up excitement and wonder from a smartphone community which sits patiently waiting to see what Apple’s next move is and to determine whether or not the 2018 iPhone range will be significant in setting the bar for other companies to aspire to in the next 12 months.

It’s now only a matter of time until we find all of that information out. In terms of overall expectations, developers expect a slew of GM seeds to be released for the aforementioned platforms. The public, as well as investors and analysts, expect Apple to announce three new iPhone models, two of which will be OLED-based and one which will be a lower-priced model with an LCD panel.

All three should could with an iPhone X-esque design language. iPhone will command the majority of the attention but there could also be a sneaky Apple Watch 4 announcement thrown in for good measure

The invites are out. The crowds will soon be waiting. It’s time to see what 2018 has in store for the future of iPhone.
