iPhone 15 Could Get The Faster WiFi 6E

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 will include support for WiFi 6E according to a report.

While it hasn’t been made clear whether the entire iPhone 15 lineup will get support for the advanced wireless networking capabilities, the feature has already made its way to some other products including the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini.

Now MacRumors reports that Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley both believe that Apple will add WiFi 6E to at least some of the iPhone 15 models that will be announced later this year – likely in or around September.

While WiFi 6 uses both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, the more capable WiFi 6E also uses the 6GHz band for improved performance. However, that change in bands means that upgraded WiFi equipment is also required in order to make full use of the technology.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max this year but it’s possible that advanced features like the new WiFi 6E connectivity could be limited to only the very best models.

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is already expected to benefit from an upgraded camera system that could see it be renamed to the iPhone 15 Ultra according to some reports. Those cameras are set to include the iPhone’s first periscope camera for improved zoom capabilities.
