iPhone 15 Could Get A New Curved Back Glass And Titanium Chassis

Apple’s iPhone 15 could be about to change the design of the iPhone lineup for the first time in years, with a leaker suggesting that Apple will go for a new titanium chassis and curved rear glass for the first time.

Leaker ShrimpApplePro says that the iPhone 15 will get a new curved back that will create a new border design that will appear similar to Apple’s latest notebooks.

There is also talk of a titanium chassis as well, something that we have heard crop up in recent years including the iPhone 14 lineup. The current iPhone 14, as was the case with many models before it, has a flat glass back that could now finally change.

Titanium is a material that Apple has used on previous devices including the MacBook and Apple Watch but it is yet to make its debut in the iPhone lineup. Titanium is a relatively hard material when compared with stainless steel and is more durable — including being less susceptible to scratching.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 lineup in or around September 2023, meaning we can expect the company to finalize production plans in due course.

As a result, it’s likely that we will begin to see more leaks crop up as well, as more companies and people become privy to the kinds of information normally kept behind closed doors.

The iPhone 15 is already expected to be a departure for Apple, with the switch from Lightning to USB-C already in the cards.
