Download: iOS 16.1.1 OTA Profile File, IPSW Links Released

You can now download iOS 16.1.1 OTA profile file and IPSW links on your iPhone as well as iPadOS 16.1.1 on iPad. Here are the details.

Apple has today released iOS 16.1.1 and you can download it yourself right now both over-the-air and manually using the IPSW files Apple provides.

The new iOS 16.1.1 update is all about bug fixes, although Apple is yet to confirm which issues this update addresses.

However, there are a couple of issues that iOS 16.1 was causing for people — hopefully iOS 16.1.1 fixes both.

One of those issues saw some iPhone owners report that their iPhone refused to stay connected to WiFi for very long, often disconnecting every few minutes. The problem was affecting both new and older iPhones ranging from iPhone XS all the way though iPhone 14.

Another issue saw some iPhones suffering from animation lag when closing apps, with IOS 16.2’s betas confirmed to have fixed that issue. It isn’t clear whether this new update fixes either problems, or if users will need to wait for iOS 16.2 to arrive next month.

Those who want to download the new update can head to Settings > General > Software Update to download the new release right now, while anyone who prefers to use the manual IPSW installation method can download the files and install them using either iTunes on a PC or Finder on a Mac.
