iOS 13 Beta 1 Vs iOS 12.3.1 Speed Test Comparison [Video]

Here’s iOS 13 beta 1 build Vs iOS 12.3.1 final speed test comparison on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device.

Apple announced and then shared the first beta of iOS 13 earlier this week, and developers have been taking it for a spin ever since. Apple made some bold claims about app launch times during the announcement, with a speed increase of 2x mentioned. YouTube channel iAppleBytes wanted to see how iOS 13 beta 1 performed when compared with iOS 12.3.1.

In order to do that a number of tests were carried out on multiple iPhones including an iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and iPhone 8. While none of these results are particularly scientific, and this being an early beta release it’s difficult to say whether it will have any bearing on the final release that will arrive later this year, the results were encouraging.

As the video shows, the devices running iOS 13 were noticeably quicker than those running iOS 12.3.1. It’s difficult to confirm the 2x speed increase Apple claims, but whereas early beta releases are normally noticeably slower than production releases that is absolutely not the case here.

Alongside speed increases as part of iOS 13, Apple also confirmed a number of new features and improvements all of which will make this one of the biggest iOS updates yet. Owners of iPads will also benefit from tablet-specific features as part of the forked iPadOS release that will now be developed alongside iOS.

The initial iOS 13 beta is now in the hands of developers with many more betas likely to be released before the update is ready for primetime, likely in September.
