Hyper Announces First USB-C Hub For 2018 iPad Pro

If there is one thing that has been a problem for users of new Apple notebooks with their minimal number of USB-C ports, it’s the fact that getting a good hub is a difficult thing to pull off. Apple does not make its own USB-C hubs, leaving users to find their own third-party solutions and so far, that hasn’t proven an easy feat.

With the arrival of the 2018 iPad Pro with USB-C port in tow, questions were immediately asked as to what that meant for the prospects of a hub. With the iPad Pro still to arrive in the hands of those who pre-ordered, accessory maker Hyper has also announced a new USB-C hub specifically designed for the new tablet.

Coming a week after its companion MacBook hub, Hyper’s USB-C hub for iPad Pro is now available for pre-order over at hypershop.com with a special discounted price that equates to 50% off. Designed for use with both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the hub connects to the tablet’s one USB-C port and provides a decent number of options including HDMI, a 3.5MM headphone jack, USB-A and USB-C PD ports, and even SD/microSD slots. That should see most people right, and with the hub connected to the side of an iPad Pro, it won’t get in the way of the Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Folio, either.

Features include:

  • World’s first dedicated USB-C hub specifically designed for the new 2018 iPad Pro
  • Connects directly to the iPad Pro single USB-C port to add 6 new ports (4K HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, SD, micro SD, USB-A 3.0 and USB-C Power Delivery)
  • iPad Pro matching Space Gray and Silver color Aluminum enclosure
  • Removable and replaceable translucent C-shape grip made of soft polycarbonate and ABS material securely holds the USB-C hub in place without blemishing the iPad Pro surface
  • From the makers of the world’s first and best selling dedicated USB-C hub for the MacBook Pro
  • Works with both 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro with or without Apple Smart (Keyboard) Folio

Hyper’s new hub will go on sale next month and anyone who signs up for email alerts will get a 50% discount on what is said to an MSRP of $99.
