Five New iPad Models Running iPadOS Registered With The EEC

Rumors suggesting new iPads are in the works have been percolating for a while and now we look to have received the biggest hint yet that new tablets will arrive in the next few months. Five new iPad models have popped up in the Eurasian Economic Commission database, signalling their impending launch.

Devices that are encrypted must be listed on the EEC’s database in order to be sold in Russia and some other countries. That means that their appearance there often tips the world that they are on the horizon as has been the case with many Apple products in the past. It appears to be the case again here after they were spotted by MySmartPrice.

All of the new iPads carry new model numbers including A2068, A2197, A2198, A2228, A2230. They are all listed as running iPadOS, too, suggesting they won’t launch until after the update goes live later this year.

As for what the new iPads are it’s currently unclear. Rumors of a new 10.2-inch low-end iPad have circulated recently, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said that new iPad Pro models would enter mass production in the final quarter of 2019 at the earliest.

We’ll find out soon enough what these new iPads are, but they’re definitely real. Devices appearing in the EEC database has confirmed the existence of multiple iPad Pro, iPad, Mac, iPhone, and other Apple products in the past. There’s no reason to believe anything is any different this time around.
