Download: watchOS 9.2, tvOS 16.2, macOS 13.1, HomePod 16.2 Released

Apple has today released a slew of new software updates including those for HomePod, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV.

All of the new updates have been in beta testing with developers as well as those on the public beta program for a number of weeks, but they’re all now ready for the public to install. Here’s what you can look forward to.

macOS 13.1 Ventura

The macOS 13.1 Ventura update brings with it support for Freeform, a new collaborative notetaking app that is also now available on iPhone and iPad. There is also additional support for Apple’s new Advanced Data Protection feature, allowing people to enable new encryption options for iCloud data.

Beyond that, Apple has also confirmed that there are a number of improvements that deal with bugs relating to search in Messages as well as the Find My app.

watchOS 9.2

The watchOS 9.2 update adds support for a number of features include the ability to use Race Route. The feature lets you compete against your previous performance when in Outdoor Run, Outdoor Cycle, and Outdoor Wheelchair Workouts.

Another addition worth noting is support for a new custom Kickboxing algorithm in the Workout app as well as accessibility support for the Siren when using an Apple Watch Ultra. There have also been Crash Detection improvements on Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch SE.

tvOS 16.2

As always, the tvOS update isn’t a huge one but it does make some improvements. It includes support for Apple Music Sing so long as you have the latest Apple TV 4K. Apple TV+ previews have also been added to the mix.

General tweaks to the main interface of the TV app re also present, while tvOS 16.2 should also now make recommendations for what you should watch next after you finish a TV show or movie.

HomePod 16.2

The HomePod’s iOS 16.2 update is all about stability improvements and performance gains, with Apple saying nothing about any new features. It’s well worth getting your HomePod updated though, so make sure to do that ASAP.

All of these updates are now available for download for free via the usual update mechanisms.
