If you’re a hardcore Mac fan, you probably have your very own favorite Mac wallpaper. We do, too, but sometimes it can be difficult to choose one from the last 19 years. When MacOS X 10.0 Cheetah was released in 2001, we couldn’t have known about the gorgeous wallpapers we’d be treated to over the years. And now you can get them all again, this time in 5K resolution.

That’s all thanks to Stephen Hacket over at 512 Pixels. Hacket has shared every Mac wallpaper going all the way back to 10.0 Cheetah, and they’re all in 5K. That means that they are all perfectly suited to being used on any Mac out there except the new Pro Display XDR. And considering almost nobody has one of those, we’re sure most will be just fine with 5K.

We’re looking at this collection of wallpapers now and reminiscing about the old days. We miss the old cat-themed wallpapers, but there’s no doubting how awesome the recent macOS 10.15 Catalina wallpaper is, either.

Apple shares a new wallpaper with every new macOS release, so we still have plenty more too look forward to in the years to come.

We’re sure Hacket will have those new wallpapers ready for download, too! Until then, we’re going to be sat looking at this collection for far longer than we probably should.
