Download: Apple Releases iOS 15.4 And iPadOS 15.4 Beta 3

Apple has today released the beta 3 of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 to developers just a week after the second betas were made available to the same group of people.

The new updates are now available for download via the Settings app for those who already have the required developer profile installed. Those who would prefer to download the IPSW files manually can do that, too.

The new updates bring with them a number of new features including the ability to use Face ID while wearing a mask. That feature is limited to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices, however. The arrival of iPadOS 15.4 also brings support for Universal Control for those who also have Macs running macOS 12.3 betas.

Other improvements in this round of updates include as many as 37 new emojis as well as early support for Tap to Pay on iPhone, a feature that will allow people to accept payments using their iPhone. iPhones will be able to accept payments via either Apple Pay or contactless card payments once the feature is available and the whole thing is aimed at businesses — Stripe is the first payment partner that Apple has announced.

We don’t yet know when Apple will make these beta updates available to the public, but those who are on the public beta program should be able to download them as soon as tomorrow assuming no showstopping bugs are discovered between now and then.
