Refreshed 13-Inch MacBook Pro With M2 Chip Rumored For Launch Next Month

Apple is now rumored to be announcing a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro next month with a new M2 chip.

That comes via the same leaker that previously outed the notch that ended up being part of the nee 14-inch and 16-inch notebooks last year.

The new machine was reported by MacRumors which cites the previously reliable leaker as pointing to a new 13-inch MacBook Pro refresh that will look exactly the same as the old one. In fact, the report suggests that the new refresh will offer an updated M2 chip and little else.

Based on the new information seen by MacRumors, the upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro retains the same design as the current version, including the Touch Bar, but unlike the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, it will not have a notch or a ProMotion display, contrary to some rumors.

It isn’t immediately clear where this leaves the MacBook Air, a machine that is also expected to get a new M2 chip as soon as next month. If Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro does hang around it will seemingly have similar capabilities to the cheaper MacBook Air.

Apple is now expected to announce a number of Macs and iPads next month with a 5G iPhone SE also heavily rumored. That event is expected to take place on March 8, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
