Consumer Reports Ranks iPhone 11 Pro Max As The Best Smartphone In The World

Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro Max has managed to come out in the number one spot in the Consumer Reports smartphone rankings. The iPhone 11 Pro came in second.

The iPhone in various guises has found itself beaten out by Samsung’s phones in recent years, but that all changed this year.

Consumer Reports says that improved battery life and the three cameras were some of the reasons for the change. Stronger glass and a brighter display apparently didn’t hurt, either.

Even though it was the larger iPhone 11 Pro Max that came out top, Consumer Reports does note that the scoring was very close between it and the iPhone Pro. Ultimately, you’ll be buying a great phone no matter which of the two you buy.

That being said, Consumer Reports also said that anyone with last year’s iPhones can probably give the 2019 lineup a miss. Despite the new iPhones receiving excellent scores, the report suggests that there isn’t enough going on to warrant spending four digits on an iPhone 11 Pro.

With that in mind the iPhone 11 may be an excellent option for those looking for a more budget friendly option. It doesn’t have the same Retina Display XDR screen as the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, but that Liquid Display is still excellent. Under the hood the same chips are used, although the iPhone 11 does lose out on the telephoto lens around the back.
