Real multi-app multitasking may be on its way to iOS thanks to jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich after he released a teaser video showing a tweak that he is currently working on. It's still in its early stages of development, but the video is enough to get us very excited indeed.
MultiPass is one of the latest tweaks to make its way onto the BigBoss repo that will likely appeal to the indecisive security conscious individuals out there. In today's modern world there are plenty of malicious individuals out there who make it their sole goal to try and extract information from smartphones that don't belong to them. It's for that reason that it's generally considered to be good practice to apply as much security as possible to the device. Apple's native Passcode offering is one way of doing that, with MultiPass existing to extend that functionality to suit user's needs.
Viber is one of the more popular Skype alternatives out there, and with apps across every major platform it isn't difficult to see why. It's also hugely popular on iOS, even with FaceTime now offering not just a video calling option, but also a voice-only solution too. Heavy users of Viber will always want to be able to customize the app a little more than its developer does though, which is where Vibrator comes in.
The best thing about Cydia tweaks is that developers often focus on those areas of your iPhone, iPod touch and/or iPad that you didn’t even think mattered, or never realized that they, too, could use some improvement. This latest tweak that we are showcasing today is one such example, where the target area is screenshots.
Facebook's commitment to mobile has undoubtedly been questionable in the past. The purchase of Instagram and subsequent acquisition of WhatsApp has proved that Mark Zuckerberg's social network definitely sees native mobile experiences as of paramount importance to the company's immediate future. However, it's the continuing development of the Messenger app that manages to convince us that the small screen is extremely important to Facebook. It's only been a matter of days since Messenger was updated with a powerful group management system, but version 4.1 for iPhone and Android is already here, bringing with it the introduction of unlimited free voice calls via a Wi-Fi connection.
Back in late February, A3Tweaks confirmed that its famed Auxo tweak would be getting a sequel designed specifically for iOS 7, and today, it has finally arrived. After a teaser demo over the weekend, A3Tweaks also confirmed that Auxo 2 would be releasing on April 2nd, and true to its word, it's just gone live on Cydia.
Even though our smartphones are getting 'smarter' with each and every new release, we, as users, still have to some thinking for ourselves. But even though it's largely down to us to keep tabs on things like battery and data use, there are still plenty of apps out there that can help, and one of the better ones for iOS has just gone free for a limited time.
If you regularly make use of securely protected websites, but hate the tedium that comes attached with entering long passwords, then the latest version of the FaceCrypt iPhone app could be the solution you've been looking for.
It's not something we've ever done ourselves, but we've got a sneak suspicion that it's happened to more people than are willing to let on. We are, of course, talking about people walking into things while they're sending text or instant messages. Granted, we've done it when inebriated, but never when trying to use our phones!
Everyone is an expert these days. With smartphones getting better and better cameras, there really is no good reason for anyone to take a bad photo on an iPhone, Galaxy S or HTC One device anymore. The same goes for video.
