Should i ditch my iPhone 5 jailbreak to try iOS 7 beta 1? That's a good question actually, and one I've been contemplating for a few days now.
QuickCall, a new tweak just made available over at the BigBoss repository, essentially allows you to throw up your contacts in an impromptu fashion using an activation method of your desire, before skimming through your contacts and making a call, starting a FaceTime call, or sending a message. Not only is this insanely useful if you don't wish to jump back through the home screen and between apps if you want to do different things, but the interface itself is very aesthetically pleasing. More details can be found right after the break!
What does your iPhone case say about you? Perhaps you've never thought about it. But in actual fact, if you look between the lines, patterns and vibrant colors which envelop our treasured Apple smartphones, you may notice that actually, the specifics of a device's cover/case/shell is something people take more seriously than they'd perhaps like to admit. Mashable has put together a rather interesting, slightly humorous infographic looking into the numerous different types of cases, and what they tell people about the individual in ownership of the device. Does your iPhone case offer a fair reflection of your personality? Check the infographic after the jump for more info!
Subway is one of the most popular fast food franchises in the world, and like all major chains, it has its very own loyalty system, the SUBCARD, for those who like an Italian BMT or a Meatball Marinara on a regular basis. Those more digitally aware will have long since ditched the plastic Subcard for the official app, which offers a QR code ready to scan at the tap of a home screen icon, and today, the UK version of the app on iOS has been updated to bring integration with Apple's fledgling Passbook app. More details and download link can be found right after the jump.
The first-person shooter genre has really flourished on modern mobile devices, and up there mixing it with the best of them is Gameloft's modern combat series. The publisher has quite a few similar titles available for both Android and iOS, but the Modern Combat franchise has easily been its strongest hitherto. Having already developed a strong legion of fans, Gameloft has just gone ahead and teased a trailer for Modern Combat 5, and even though the previous releases have enjoyed high-end, console-esque visuals and gameplay, this latest version appears to have stepped things up once more. Details, as well as that trailer, can be found after the jump!
WWDC begins next week, and during the course of the past three or four months, we've covered literally dozens of concepts pertaining to the biggest talking point at Apple's WWDC 2013: iOS 7. Designers have been working overtime to deliver their ideas and predictions in image and video form, but concept maker Steve King has gone a step further in creating an interactive iOS 7 concept which can be tested right now on a mockup iPhone 5S on the Web.
The jailbreak scene is an ever changing landscape. What's new, noteworthy and popular on any given day can easily be cast into obscurity on the next, leaving space for a new package to step into the limelight and gain praise. Over the last few years we have seen a number of powerful and innovative solutions that allow jailbroken iOS users to quickly and efficiently access commonly used system settings without having to drill-down into menu structures within the Settings app. Most of those offerings have come in the form of some kind of modal overlay, or are accessed by other means, but now we have a new centralized toggle system called FlipSwitch and it's about to take the limelight.
Deus Ex: Human revolution was arguably one of the most eagerly anticipated titles of the current generation, and it arrived to much fanfare including rave reviews from both gamers and the press alike. We loved Deus Ex ourselves, which is why we're suitably giddy to hear that the game’s creators, Square Enix has today announced that it is bringing a new game to the iPhone and iPad - a game based on the Deus Ex franchise.
Much has been made of the recently-announced improvements to Google's Gmail inbox service, and with the Android app's update having just recently been rolled out to the Google Play Store bringing some of these exciting enhancements, the corresponding bump in features has just been handed to its iOS cousin. You'll find all of the details, as well as that all-important download link, after the break!
The notion of Apple bringing out a low-cost iPhone has always been suggested. With such a popular brand at a sky-high price, perhaps it was always going to be an idea teased by the masses. But this year, there's a really strong consensus that there will indeed be a cheaper model to help corner markets like India and China, as well as allowing those with less disposable cash to still rock an iPhone. Today, images purporting to depict the device have been discovered on Weibo, the 'Chinese Twitter,' and although the bumper case, lack of a snap of the front of the device and a lot of blurriness make for a rather suspect leak, we have to check out all possible avenues in our quest to discover this elusive budget iPhone.
