Here is a head to head comparison between the iPhone 3GS and the upcoming Google phone named as Nexus One. For those of you who don't know, Nexus One been designed by the folks at Google, and the hardware is manufactured by HTC. Nexus One will be powered by the latest version of Android OS and will be sold online by Google, fully unlocked so that you can use it with any carrier you like. It will look alot like HTC Passion/Bravo which is also slated for early 2010 release.

TechCrunch is reporting on an interesting news regarding the rumored Google Phone which could be revealed early next year. Google Phone doesn't mean yet another Android device, it will infact be a Google branded phone, designed by the folks in Mountain View, California, running on top of the latest version of Android OS. HTC, the smartphone manufacturer behind the two popular Android handsets, Hero and Droid Eris, is said to be producing the hardware for it.

Time Magazine today has published its list of “Top 10 of Everything” in which they have picked up Motorola Droid on Verizon network as the winner for their “Gadget of the Year” award. iPhone 3GS which was released in the same year as Motorola Droid could only manage 4th place behind Droid, The Nook and Dyson Air Multiplier. Google today has announced the public availability of Goggles which can let you search the web using images, without having to speak or write anything. You can simply take a picture with the camera on your phone, Goggles will then analyze and process your image, and then it will return a relevant search results page from Google. Currently, Goggles identifies landmarks, books, logos, business cards, places, wine bottles and works of art. Support for things like food, plants, cars, animals and suggestions of move in a chess game will added in future releases.

Google today has announced the rollout of its Real-Time Search technology which will enable users to see the relevant information in search results from information published on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, FriendFeed and identi.ca. This new search option is also optimized to run on mobile devices such as the iPhone and other Android based devices. This announcement was made today at a news conference held at the Computer History Museum.

Moments ago, we notified you about HTC working on getting the next generation Android 2.1 on HTC Hero. And now we have been notified by an anonymous tipster that the genius folks over at XDA have already managed to run a leaked copy of Android 2.1 OS on Hero, and it is now available for download on XDA-Developers forums. This Android 2.1 Rom for Hero comes with the newer version of HTC Sense UI, specially optimized to run this version of OS.

We all heard the news about HTC Hero getting official upgrade for Android 2.0 platform. Even the official HTC twitter account confirmed this when they tweeted about this possible upgrade last month. But now it looks like HTC has better plans for its Hero owners. According the news posted by BGR, HTC is working on getting the next generation Android 2.1 upgrade for HTC Hero. This could possibly mean that the plans for getting Android 2.0 on Hero might have been abandoned all together.

The impressive rate at which new mobile phones are entering the cell phone arena sometimes creates a state of confusion for consumers about which one to get. More often than not, they find themselves in a situation, where they are unable to decide which mobile phone to go ahead with. With Sony Ericsson set to unveil Xperia X10 early next year, it is surely going to bring some competition within the Android camp. Motorola Droid is at the moment at least the Android phone of choice followed by HTC Hero and the likes.
