It has long since been known that a new, up-scaled and improved version of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 5 would be rolled out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in due course, and earlier this month, we got official confirmation of the release dates. The console edition will be headed our way on November 18th, with the Windows edition set to début on January 27th, but while PC users might still have a bit of a wait on their hands, we're now getting more information on just how much better this new version will be.

Dong Nguyen, whose .GEARS Studio developed the famed Flappy Bird title for iOS and Android, has come through with a follow-up title that, on first play, seems every bit as tedious and frustrating as Nguyen's smash-hit title. Rolling out for iOS and Android, Swing Copters is not so much tricky as infuriating, and given that Nguyen claimed to have pulled Flappy Bird due to the stress it was causing gamers, this new title looks set to raise heart and blood pressure levels all over again.

You'd have to have been living in a cave earlier this year to miss the whole Flappy Bird saga. Becoming hugely popular on the App Store and Play Store almost overnight, Flappy Bird raked in huge sums of money for its creator Dong Nguyen on an apparently daily basis. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to keep him happy though, and his newfound fame - or should that be infamy - caused him to pull the game and almost disappear.

Alienware, the American computer hardware outfit owned by Dell Inc., has announced that its first Steam Machine will be available for the public to get its hands on in November. The Alienware Alpha looks likely to be the first commercially available Steam Machine when it launches, but rather than being built on top of Valve's SteamOS, the Alpha hardware will be reliant on Microsoft's Windows 8.1 operating system. The curiosities doesn’t stop there either as Alienware looks to penetrate the PC gaming market with a Steam Machine that is likely to differ vastly from the initial crop that hit the market.

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 5 was by far and away the biggest gaming release last year, grossing well over one billion dollars in the first three days alone. Having arrived in September, though, it hit the market just before the arrival of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and as such, even the sumptuous visuals that Rockstar spent years slaving over could do with upscaling. Thankfully, we know that a high-def, vastly improved edition will be hitting the two new consoles later on this year, along with a PC edition, and as per Amazon.de, we may now have the official date.
