This iOS 7 Safari Concept Adds More Functionality To Apple’s Native Browser [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·May 23, 2013
It's quickly becoming a case of another day, another iOS 7 concept, and aside from the supposed flatness, improvements to Maps and recently revealed integration with social hunts such as Vimeo and Flickr, precious little is known of Apple's forthcoming edition of its famed mobile operating system. All will of course be revealed at next month's WWDC 2013, but until the calendar finally crosses the line for June 10th, all we can do is hope, predict and anticipate.

Apple Throws Galaxy S4, Google Now For Infringing Siri Patents, Into Lawsuit Melting-Pot

Ben Reid·May 22, 2013
It's fair to say, given the courtroom history and market face-offs between the two, that a certain amount of friction, animosity and contempt exists between Apple and Samsung. The two companies were at loggerheads last year in a court hearing which saw Apple reign supreme over its bitter rival, but with a new trial taking place this year in the same San Jose location, issues have by no means been resolved. As a very relevant subplot, Apple has never been shy of dragging Google into proceedings, and following on from the Cupertino's recent demands to see the Android source code as part of the hearing, Tim Cook's legal bureaucrats have now dragged both the newly-released Samsung Galaxy S4 and Google Now into the equation.

Ben Reid·May 21, 2013
Keen designers Ran Avni and Uygar Kaya have come up with yet another iPhone 6 concept which incorporates many of the features iPhone fans have long since been pining for, including wireless charging, LED notifications and of course, a larger, wider screen. It's easily one of the best concepts we've had the pleasure of ogling, and you can decide whether you agree by checking out the video after the break!

The 7-Star Burj Al Arab Hotel In Dubai Introduces 24-Carat Gold iPads For Its Guests

Oliver Haslam·May 21, 2013
Top of the list of places to stay, the only 7-Star hotel in the world, Dubai's Burj Al Arab, is possibly the most luxurious hotel on the face of the planet. It should be, too, considering the $1,500 starting price for a double room. If you are lucky enough to be able to count yourself amongst the few people that can afford to frequent the place though, you'll be greeted with your very own iPad to use during your stay. Not just any iPad though. Oh no.

This iOS 7 Concept Gives Users The Option To Toggle Flat Interface On Or Off [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·May 17, 2013
Much has been made of Apple's intentions to bring a flatter user interface to iOS with the forthcoming seventh version, but opinion remains divided on whether skeuomorphism is actually all that bad after all. The two-sidedness of the debate created factions within Apple itself, with ex-iOS SVP Scott Forstall seemingly all for the replication of realistic materials while others, like lead hardware designer Jony Ive, were less enthused by the look. Taking into consideration the polarizing effect, concept maker Ran Avni has taken an interesting approach by suggesting a system which would effectually allow users to flit between flat graphics and the rather familiar look of iOS hitherto. Check it out after the break!

Macs Not As Safe As You May Think After New Screenshot-Taking Malware Found

Oliver Haslam·May 17, 2013
Many Mac users operate under the assumption that they are impervious to viruses and malware, but as we are finding more and more these days, that's not strictly true. A new piece of malware has recently been found that appears to take screenshots of a user's desktop which are then saved to a folder in the user's Home directory.

Download iTunes 11.0.3 With Brand New MiniPlayer, Improved Songs View And More [Windows / Mac]

Ben Reid·May 17, 2013
The wait for the arrival of iTunes 11 was certainly extensive, and although we always knew it would be arriving at some point in 2012, we didn't perhaps foresee that we'd be waiting right until the very end of the year to sink our teeth into it. Still, in terms of major bugs and issues, the latest and greatest release has been relatively incident-free, and to continue in that vein, Apple has just released iTunes 11.0.3 with a couple of minor improvements.

New Interview From Bill Gates Offers More Insight Into His Relationship With Steve Jobs [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·May 13, 2013
The phenomenal, perhaps unrivalled collective achievements of both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs has made the details of their complex relationship one of the most intriguing stories in modern technology. Seemingly fitting of the old expression "best of friends, keenest of rivals," Gates was as much a recipient of compliments from the late Apple co-founder as he was his famously sharp tongue, and in a new interview with CBS, the Microsoft chairman and former CEO reflects fondly on the times he shared with his Apple adversary.
