It’s not new that developers would dissect the beta builds of an upcoming iOS version to unearth some information about potential hardware changes, especially if the developer build seeded would precede a major hardware refresh (which basically means other than the “s” iterations of the iPhone). Today, some new information has been uncovered about the display resolution of the upcoming iPhone 6 by looking at the iOS 8 SDK, which puts the resolution at 414 x 736 resolution.
As consumers, we tend to focus on the more obvious new features when assessing the improvements being made to a new device. In the case of the iPhone 6, we've mainly concentrated on the slicker, thinner form factor and larger display, but as per the sizeable pile of evidence relating to Apple's next handset, there's plenty else to look forward to besides. It has been mentioned on several occasions that the device will pack improved connectivity, with faster Wi-Fi and cellular, and a new tidbit of info may finally have offered some key details on the latter.
When we told you about Apple's rumored reversible USB Lightning cable, plenty of people were rather excited at the idea. With good reason too, because we've all had that brain-melting moment when we have tried to plug a USB cable in only for it to inevitably be the wrong way around. It's a fact of life that nobody can plug a USB cable in the right way first time, and we've known it take three goes before people have managed it - and there are only two orientations to choose from!

At that time, it was uncertain whether the cables will actually come with the upcoming iPhone or a later iteration. Today, a number of images for the new Lightning cable retail boxes have been leaked that show that the new Lightning cable might be closer than it earlier seemed.
Another day and another leak related to the upcoming iPhone 6; it seems it’s pretty much raining leaked information related to the purported device these days. Today’s leaks basically comprises of an alleged schematic of the new device that shows the iPhone 6 to be featuring a 1GB RAM chip instead of a larger module, putting it at par with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.

There's no doubt in our minds that Samsung's Galaxy Alpha smartphone will manage to capture a lot of consumer attention when it's released to market. Samsung's latest edition to the Galaxy smartphone range is a sleek and slender offering, and becomes the first Galaxy phone to ship with a high-quality metal frame. Great news for those who have previously shied away from Samsung smartphones due to their poor, plastic-infused build quality. It's great to see the Korean company finally upping its game from a manufacturing quality stance, but how does the new Alpha smartphone compare against Apple's purported iPhone 6? These beautiful, high-quality renders throw the two devices side-by-side in a battle for consumer adoration.
It may not make it any money, but Apple will still no doubt be pleased to hear that it has won a Creative Arts Emmy award for Outstanding Commercial with its 'Misunderstood' TV ad that touted the iPhone 5s.
Newly leaked photos appear to give credence to the suggestion that Apple is set to revise its Lightning cable, at least the USB end of it.
