Apple has just announced the next-gen iPod touch. As expected, this upgrade is a huge one for iPod touch fans ! It is powered by the all new Apple A4 chip, will feature iPhone 4 like Retina Display, a front-facing cam for FaceTime calls, a camera on the back for HD video recording, and Gyroscope.
Apple today has released iTunes 10 for both Windows and Mac OS X. This is a major release which brings lots of new feature to one of the most popular software around. Some of these features are highlighted below.
So yea.. it was very lame on Apple’s part to restrict all users expect those with Macs and iOS devices for the live video stream of “Special Media Event” which will be broadcasted at 10:00 a.m. PDT (click here to see what time is it in your region) on September 1, 2010. But thanks to MacRumors, there is now a workaround which will enable all Windows and Linux users to watch the live video stream without having to own any of the Macs or iOS devices.
I don’t know if this is first for an Apple event but well, Apple has just announced that they are going to live stream September 1st “Special Media Event” which will be mainly geared towards their new 2010 iPod lineup. You will have to have either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad to watch the streaming. If you are a Windows user, you will be out of luck which kinda sucks in my opinion.
If the latest round of rumors from Apple Insider are to be believed, Apple might introduce a new 3G-enabled iPod touch this Wednesday, which like its iPad 3G offering will include an AT&T micro-SIM for contract free data connectivity.
We are only a few days away now from Apple’s Special Media Event which is scheduled to be held on September 1, at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Theater in San Francisco. While the event more looks like being iPod-centric, rumor has it that Apple is very likely to introduce new Apple TV (dubbed as iTV) which will be based on iOS like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
iTunes App Store, which was launched back in 2008 with the introduction of iPhone 3G and iPhone software 2.0 (now iOS) has just passed a quarter million apps mark this Friday, with more than 50,000 developers working on them. As of the time of writing this article, the tally stands at 252,227 apps to date. This includes apps for all iOS based devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If inactive apps are to be counted, then the number of apps go way above 300,000. The Graph below shows the rapid rate at which the App Store is growing.
We have been constantly getting reports from our readers, both by email and in comments about JailbreakMe.com being down for them. If you are unable to access JailbreakMe.com on any if your iOS device, try out the following fixes. One of these will hopefully fix the problem for you so that you can jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Ever fancied having two SIMs in your iPhone 4, which is of course either factory unlocked or hacked to run any carrier SIM you like? Well apparently, USBFever has come up with a solution which could be very useful if you like hopping around two networks. The Dual SIM Card Adaptor allows you to hook two SIM cards with the help of a clip, which goes around the iPhone 4 and is held tightly together with a transparent back cover case which it ships with.
We have already seen many different pictures of iPod touch 4 surfaced in the last month or so, and rumors are floating around that the new iPod touch will get a front-facing camera for FaceTime video calls, a rear camera for HD video recording, along with a Retina Display. But what we’re all really interested in knowing is what will the new iPod touch look like, as in the design. A source close to iLounge claims that the new iPod touch won’t have a all flat glass back like the iPhone 4, rather it will be much like the new MacBook Pros.
