The important thing to remember is that you can’t add this code to an existing version of Windows 10 Home. It needs to be a Windows Pro installation. Keep that in mind.

Step 2: You’ll be provided a license key for Windows 10 Pro via email. You’re going to need that later, so make sure to keep it safe and sound. Writ it on something, print it out, tattoo it to your dog.

Step 3: Now you need to go through the process of installing the correct version of Windows 10 Pro. Remember that you cannot upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro so you will need to have Pro installed in the first instance. That’s the important part. Step 4: Now, head to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System. You will see an option that either says Activate Windows or Change Product Key. Select it.

Step 5: You will now get a new window titled “Enter a product key”. Add the product key that you purchased in Step 1.
