How To Get iOS 7 Like Control Center On Mac

Paul Morris·October 17, 2013
Call it what you like – iOS 7 Control Center is very handy for accessing a number of important apps and toggles. An SBSettings like rip-off derived directly from the Cydia tweaks or merely a clever introduction on the part of Apple Inc. Wouldn't it be great if we had something similar for machines running OS X that let us quickly access iTunes, display and time based functions directly from the Menu Bar? Well, it seems like the guys over at It's About Time Products LLC were reading our thoughts and have introduced Controls+ for OS X, available now on the Mac App Store.

There doesn't seem to be a shortage of big named companies that are prepared to jump on the wearable technology bandwagon. Samsung have recently hit the market with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, a device that has so far failed to impress anyone. A number of other large brands are rumored to be planning on getting in on the action with their own wearable but the latest to come forward with real intent is Adidas, one of the world's biggest manufacturers of sports clothing and accessories.

Glitch In GTA 5 Online Turns Players Into Billionaires, Here’s How It Works [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·October 17, 2013
It seems that no hugely hyped up video game comes without an attached set of problems these days. The sheer size and complexity of newly released games like SimCity and Grand Theft Auto V means that there is always going to be some unwanted little bugs hiding away somewhere. When you introduce variants of the game that are played purely online then you can be asking for real trouble if you don't get it just right. Rockstar initially had teething troubles with GTA Online but it also seems like a bug in invite-only online games is allowing players to financially benefit to the tune of billions.

New LG G2 Smart Ads Trolls iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S4 And HTC One Users [IMAGES]

Paul Morris·October 16, 2013
Ad agencies, and the large technology companies that hire them, are always looking for new and innovative ways to get their message across to existing and potential customers. Just like in any walk of life, the agencies that have a track record of thinking outside of the box in order to boost their clients profile are usually the ones that gain the most traction and propel themselves to the top of the advertising food chain. M&C Saatchi - an ad company from Stockholm, Sweden – has come up with the idea of using an existing technology and advertising medium in an entirely different way in order to spread the word about the new LG G2 smartphone.

New Twitter Setting Allows Any User To Send You A Direct Message

Paul Morris·October 15, 2013
Any Twitter user will be more than aware that the San Francisco based company isn’t shy when it comes to making changes. Historical amendments around their developer focused API caused more than its fair share of controversy when introduced earlier this year. The many millions of registered Twitter users have also been subjected to various changes over the company's lifespan with the introduction of sponsored tweets showing up in timelines. After a period of public inactivity, the changes are happening again, but this time involving a relatively minor tweak on how direct messages currently work.

Switch Between Running Apps On Android With One Swipe Using Switchr

Paul Morris·October 13, 2013
Switching between running apps on a smartphone or tablet is something that users just expect to be possible. Computers have no problems running multiple programs within different windows, so why can't mobile devices do it efficiently, right? Well, there is a little more complexity to handling this type of expensive multitasking on a small portable device, but we do live in an age where our mobile phones and tablets can handle this pretty adequately. With that said, sometimes adequate just isn't good enough which is why Switchr for Android is getting so much praise.

What you actually get is a bespoke, purpose made work-surface crafted out of solid aluminum that has been designed to raise money for one of the world's worthiest causes.

How To Check If Your Android Device Is Rooted Or Not

Paul Morris·October 11, 2013
We know what you Android users have been thinking: there is nothing worse in this world than thinking that you have root privileges on your favorite smartphone or tablet only to find out they have magically gone missing. Okay, so maybe the harsh reality of life does throw a few challenges at us that are significantly worse than that, but it can still be extremely confusing, annoyingly problematic when such a thing occurs without warning. If you've found yourself in this head-scratching situation then it's time to check out Simple Root Checker.
