Google Expanding Glass Explorer Program, Existing Users Can Now Invite Three Friends, Swap The Old Model For New

Paul Morris·October 29, 2013
There's always going to be a subset of the technology loving community that simply can't force themselves to get on-board with a particular piece of tech, but the overall opinion about Google Glass seems overwhelmingly positive thus far. The good news coming from Google today is that reports of a Google Glass Explorer Program expansion are most definitely true with Google themselves confirming the imminent introduction of an invite system.

Apple Q4 2013 Earnings: 33.8M iPhones And 14.1M iPads Sold, $37.5 Billion In Revenue

Paul Morris·October 29, 2013
Apple has officially published their latest financial results that give a thorough insight into how the Cupertino based company has performed in the last fiscal quarter. Many technology analysts and industry insiders have been using the days running up to the Apple Earnings Conference Call to declare their predictions that the company would fall short of projections due to lackluster demand for the iPhone 5 because new devices were on the verge of being announced. With posted revenues of $37.5 billion it seems that Tim Cook and his executive team can take a lot of positives from the financial performance.

Paul Morris·October 26, 2013
The imminent arrival of Sony's PlayStation 4 and all associated accessories is already reason enough to be excited as we head into the vastly important holiday shopping season. Getting our hands on and experiencing the PS4 - as well as Microsoft's Xbox One we might add - will be one of the highlights of the year as far as anticipated technology goes, but it's always great to find out that the hardware is capable of a little more than we first thought. In the case of Sony and the PlayStation 4 it seems that the accompanying DualShock 4 controller is actually compatible with a range of other platforms.

Amazon Takes A Jab At New iPad Air To Promote Kindle Fire HDX [IMAGE]

When you find yourself in the position that Apple is in as a company, it seems that you become an easy target for replication and parody. No company is whiter than white these days, but Apple has often found their work and announcements being mimicked and mocked a lot more than the average company in the technology industry. The latest business giant to take a pop at Apple is Amazon, who is using the recently announced iPad Air to advertise their own Kindle Fire HDX tablet that is available immediately for pre-order.

Galaxy S5 Will Feature Galaxy Note 3-like Faux Leather Exterior, According To Report

Paul Morris·October 21, 2013
Samsung may currently find itself sitting at the top of the smartphone vendor hierarchy, but there's always been certain aspects of their hardware that just doesn't sit right with some consumers. There's no denying that the company designs and builds fantastic and extremely sought-after smartphones, but the construction of those devices sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. We've been hearing a lot of rumors recently about less than projected sales of the Galaxy S4, which has lead onto speculation suggesting that Samsung could announce the next in the Galaxy S series early next year. Today's latest S related chatter seems to indicate that we could be about to receive yet another plastic based device from the Korean company.

Research Shows That 84% Of Smartphone Users Use Apps During Their Morning Routines

Paul Morris·October 20, 2013
For some of us, rising with the sun is second nature and is often filled with energy and enthusiasm. For others, the sound of the alarm in the morning is an alert that we dread as it signifies the time to rise from our slumber. Regardless of the category that you as an individual fall into, it seems there is a very high chance that your early morning routine will involve some kind of native mobile app usage.

Paul Morris·October 19, 2013
Apple's recent migration to iOS 7 has pretty much guaranteed that any developer who sees a future in their mobile software will be pushing out an update that brings a minimum of visual changes. We've already seen a number of Google's App Store offerings going through the update process, but today is the turn of the extremely popular Hangouts app that has been revised to version 1.3.0.

Real World Racing Game ‘Anki Drive’ For iPhone Gets Release Date And Price

Paul Morris·October 17, 2013
For a company that will ultimately live or die based on the interest shown in their product by the iOS community, it is vitally important to have a strong relationship with Apple Inc. In the case of Anki it can be pretty much be assumed that their bond with the Californian giants is relatively strong considering they were asked to unveil their maiden product - the Anki Drive - during the keynote speech of this year's Worldwide Developer Conference. That first Anki product managed to generate a lot of interest and it's now been announced that the innovative hardware will be available to purchase on October 23rd.

Official Facebook App For Windows 8.1 Now Available

Paul Morris·October 17, 2013
Windows 8 users have been waiting patiently for the arrival of the official Facebook app for quite some time. Back in June of this year, Microsoft did their best to raise excitement levels by pre-announcing that the world's largest social network would be releasing a native app for the platform along with other respected offerings like Flipboard. The privately held session during the company's BUILD event even went as far as showing off the wondrous new apps on a touchscreen tablet device. The teasing and waiting is eventually over for Windows users as Facebook has released their official app just in time for the launch of Windows 8.1.
