Apple’s iPhone Upgrades Saw Double-Digit Growth In Q3 2021

With Apple’s earnings call taking place last night we now have more information on what went down during the third fiscal quarter of 2021, and it’s all looking very rosy for Apple.

With iPhone having brought in almost $40 billion alone, it seems that was aided and abetted by significant upgrade numbers.

AS noted by MacRumors, CEO Tim Cook said that Apple experienced “strong double-digit growth” in the number of iPhone users who upgraded to new devices and Android users who switched to iOS.

That makes Q3 2021 the largest upgrade quarter of its kind ever, with iPhone 12 proving to be a hugely popular model for Apple. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max were “particularly strong” in terms of sales, Cook said.

Cook also pointed out that 5G penetration is “very low” suggesting there is still plenty of room for growth. Recent years have seen concerns that iPhone growth would be a problem for Apple, with the smartphone industry as a whole seeing saturation across the board.

All of this positive iPhone 12 news comes as the company gets ready to announce the next batch of devices. All being well, we expect Apple to announce the iPhone 13 lineup in or around September.
