Apple Releases macOS 10.14.6, tvOS 12.4.1, watchOS 5.3.1 Supplemental Updates

Apple has today released a fresh round of software updates for every platform. In addition to iOS 12.4.1, that means tvOS 12.4.1, watchOS 5.3.1, and macOS Mojave 10.14.16 are all now available for download via their respective update mechanisms.

With software updates now available for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch, all platforms are now fully patched thanks to these supplemental updates.

There doesn’t appear to be any feature updates to speak of here however, with all of the changes coming beneath the surface. Bug and security fixes are very much the order of the day here.

In fact, there are some important fixes made to macOS Mojave as outlined below:

  • Resolves an issue that may cause certain Mac notebooks to shut down during sleep
  • Fixes an issue that may degrade performance when working with very large files
  • Addresses an issue that may prevent Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, and GarageBand from updating

With Apple still hard at work on iOS 13, iPadOS13, tvOS 13, watchOS 6, and macOS 10.15 Catalina it’s unclear whether there will be any more releases ahead of their arrival.

Beta programs for all of those updates have been running for a number of months at this point and most bugs have been ironed out. That isn’t to say everything is rosy, but with just weeks to go before new iPhones are announced we don’t expect too many more changes before then.

Apple is expected to launch all of its new software updates towards the end of September, likely alongside those new 2019 iPhones. Apple is also rumored to have new iPads, new Apple Watches, and an all-new 16-inch MacBook Pro in the works, too. If all of that comes to fruition, these next few weeks could be very busy indeed.
