Apple Now Lets Buyers Engrave AirPods Cases With Emoji

Buyers looking to order new AirPods or AirPods Pro will now be able to engrave their wireless earbuds’ case with emoji, after Apple added the new option to the product’s personalization page. The company announced the change through an update to their website, which reads “new personal engraving options, from A to emoji.”

The new option allows customers to pick one emoji from a selection of 31 to adorn the front of the case. The emoji, like the custom text, is engraved in the center, right beneath the charging light on the new cases.

The emoji on offer include the usual collection of smiley faces and hand signs, the heart and star emojis, and several options for animal lovers. For the more whimsical, there is even the poop emoji, though I’m not sure how many would want to unironically put a smiling piece of crap on their $160-$200 earbuds, or maybe that is exactly why one should.

The new offering adds to the existing option to engrave with text. That option remains separate, however, which means buyers won’t be able to engrave their cases with a mix of both. The engraving can either have text or a single emoji.

Emoji engraving is available for all three AirPods models, namely the original AirPods, AirPods with Wireless Charging Case, and the all-new AirPods Pro.
