Anemone, BioProtect Updated To Fully Support iOS 11 Jailbreak Ahead Of Electra RC1 Public Release With Cydia

Two of the most popular modern jailbreak tweaks have now been updated and released with full iOS 11 jailbreak support ahead of Electra RC1 public release.

Anemone and BioProtect are two packages which are pretty much a must-have installation on all jailbroken devices. Both developers have now released compatibility updates to support devices jailbroken with Electra.

Electra developer CoolStar recently announced that the first version of the Electra complete with Cydia bundled in would be released to a select few developers in the first instance, and he did exactly that. The theory behind the strategy was that those developers could take the opportunity to get their own popular packages up and running with iOS 11 and fully test the experience before giving Cydia access to the general public.

The immediate availability of Anemone and BioProtect, which are both popular installations, suggests that the strategy is working well.

For those who don’t know, Anemone is essentially a replacement for the old-school WinterBoard which allows third-party themes and visual customizations to be invoked and managed on a jailbroken device. This makes it unbelievably easy for device owners to entirely change the look and feel of their iPhone and iPad by deviating massively from Apple’s own native design. BioProtect, on the other hand, is a wonderful tweak by Elias Limneos which allows individual applications to be protected through biometrics. This latest version is fully compatible with iOS 11, Touch ID, and Apple’s latest Face ID functionality for those who are lucky enough to own iPhone X.

Both packages are available to download and install right now for those who want to go through a manual installation process or by using the Tweak Installer. For those who prefer to wait and do it properly, it’s likely only a matter of time until CoolStar puts the Electra jailbreak out for public with Cydia installed as part of the payload. Until then, it’s great to see developers embracing iOS 11 and bring their tools up to scratch to support the latest jailbreaks running the latest possible jailbreakable firmware.

As soon as Electra jailbreak with Cydia is available, we will let you know. Additionally, as and when prominent tweaks are updated with iOS 11 compatibility, you can be sure to hear it here first.
