WhatsApp Update Adds Better Search And Shortcut For Chatting To Yourself

WhatsApp is one of the world’s most popular instant messaging platforms and it has a new iPhone update out that brings some notable features into play.

The new update, which is now available for download in the App Store, makes it easier than ever for people to send messages to themselves.

That might not sound like a big deal at first, but WhatsApp says that it can be useful “for convenient reminders and note taking” with chats synced automatically between devices.

Perhaps a more useful feature is a new search option that makes it quicker and easier to find messages that were sent on a specific date, removing the need to scroll back to find a message.

“Search by date” is now supported from within chat search. Tap ‘Search’ from contact or group info and select the ‘calendar’ icon to toggle to date picker.

Other improvements in WhatsApp 23.1.75 include the ability to drag and drop images, files, and other data from other apps including Safari, Photos, Files, and others. Finally, WhatsApp has now changed the “delete for me” feature, allowing people to undo the deletion action for a few seconds in case of mistakes.

The new update is available for download in the App Store now and is of course free. You might already have it if you have automatic updates enabled, otherwise you can download the update manually to take advantage of these new changes.
