Video Review: Impact Band For iPhone 5 Uses Shock-Absorbent To Help Repel Bumps And Drops

Technology, and more specifically mobile technology, seems to develop incredibly quickly. As things change in the smartphone space, bigger screens and larger handsets seem to be on trend whilst durability and device toughness never seem to get a look-in on the frontline features of new devices. As such, a case is a must have on many of today’s flagship smartphones, and the iPhone 5 is no exception. Whilst the aluminum build of the iPhone 5 provides a very strong base, the glass on the back and screen are all too easily broken.

Tech21 is a British company that is known for it’s developments in using new found technologies to the advantage of mobile device protection. In particular, their D30 protection included with many of their cases is particularly interesting, as it claims to absorb shock, and then continues to distribute it away from the device which it is protecting.

Impact Case iPhone 5 review 1

This certainly would act as a very effective measure against all manner of drops, and I can credit them that whilst using their Impact Band Case for iPhone 5, no small acts of clumsiness on my part did any damage to my device. My full review of this product can be found in the video embedded at the end of this post.

The feature that I liked most about this case, was the durability and security that it provides. It has a very malleable property, that enables it to maintain it’s original size and shape regardless of how long it’s been scrunched up in your bag, or in a drawer, for instance. This, of course, means it will provide your device with the best protection possible, whilst maintaining a relatively slim form factor (at least compared to most protective cases).

Impact Case iPhone 5 review 2

As you’d expect with a case of this quality; all ports, functions and controls of your iPhone are perfectly accessible with the case on. With the removable back plate applied to the case, you’ll still be able to use your camera with no issue whatsoever. Whilst on the topic of the back plate, I had never really considered how useful it is to be able to remove the back plate of a case before. There are certain situations where you’ll need, or want to have it installed, and others where you just won’t. This case provides you with the flexibility to be able to do this.

The Tech21 Impact Band Case for iPhone 5 can be purchased directly from shop.tech21.uk.com or from Apple Store. It seems like a great choice for those wanting to find a protective case, that doesn’t detract from the form or function of your iPhone 5.
