This Video Compares All iPhones From The Original To iPhone 8

2017 marks the tenth anniversary of the iPhone and June 29th in particular is a big day because it is the day that particular iPhone went on sale all the way back in 2007.

You would need to have been hiding in a cave somewhere to not realize that 2017 is a big year for possibly the most influential piece of consumer electronics hardware of the last 20 years, and with the iPhone 8 expected to arrive within a matter of months, we expect Apple to pull out all the stops.

As part of all this, 9to5Mac, along with Shai Mizrachi, have put together a number of photographs and a video in which ten years of iPhone can be truly appreciated. Across those photos and video, we can see how the iPhone has evolved, taking the original metal design and then morphing it into the glass models we knew as the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s before going back to metal for the most recent releases.

The unannounced but heavily leaked iPhone 8 will go back to a glass construction, potentially to allow for a wireless charging component, and it promises to be quite the looker.

Included in the little photo essay is the iPhone 8 dummy model that has been floating around online for a little while now, and the one thing that strikes us when it is placed alongside older iPhones is how it crams a much, much larger screen into a footprint so small, at least comparatively, especially when you look at the sheer size of the iPhone Plus models.

If you have been an iPhone user at some point over the past ten years, this is a great little trip down memory lane and we think everyone should check it out, if only to remind themselves just how gorgeous that original iPhone was all the way back in 2007.
