This UV Face Mask Claims To Filter And Purify 99.9% Of Pollutants, Pathogens, Dust, Allergens – Perfect For Current Pandemic

It’s fairly obvious to most people that we should be wearing a face mask when we leave our homes right now but even masks aren’t 100% effective.

One Kickstarter project claims to be able to get close to it, though, with 99.9% of pollutants, pathogens, dust, and allergens destroyed.

The UVMask claims that it’ll let us “enjoy breathing air in public again” which is a big thing to say in the middle of a global pandemic, but here we are.

Equipped with a passive air filter, and a groundbreaking patent-pending Sterile-Vortex active protection, it filters and purifies 99.99% of air 10x faster than you can breathe.

The UV-C light is sealed within the patent-pending Sterile-Vortex. As you breathe, the air is sent through the vortex and purified under two 25,000μW/cm2 UV-C LEDs.

You might be forgiven for thinking that the mask might be huge, but from the photos available on the Kickstarter page that doesn’t appear to be the case. The whole thing isn’t cheap, though. You can pledge $189 or more and get two masks which is apparently a saving of 62%. As for the Kickstarter campaign, there are 38 days to run and it has smashed through its goal by a huge margin.

Apparently the UVMask should be ready to ship to people by October 2020 which isn’t to far away. You can check out the Kickstarter page here for all the details and to place an order if you’re into it.
