Changing the look and feel of the iOS UI, swapping out interface assets for additional artwork and overhauling the lock screen Notification Center are just a few areas within the jailbreak world that are growing in popularity daily. Themes and Notification Center widgets are littered throughout Cydia, which is the main reason why it's always great when something like NCWeather comes along and injects energy and elegance into Notification Center.
The Cydget tweak, released by Cydia creator Saurik, has long since offered a novel way for jailbreakers to widgetize their iOS lock screens, and with support for iOS 7, other developers have been hard at work updating and creating widgets for the masses. iOS 7 LockScreen Weather is one such Cydget theme, and although there are no prizes on offer for those managing to guess what it does, you may instead be surprised by how elegant it appears when installed.

In fact, its inability to change its appearance as the weather changes outside the window has often been the subject of much ire and consternation amongst those of us that spend far too much time worrying about icons.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is known the world over as a public provider of broadcasting services, as well as a reputable source of twenty-four hour news through their television, web and mobile app channels. In more recent times we have seen the BBC expand their mobile offerings by pushing out a dedicated sports app to compliment their existing news app and it seems that they aren't quite finished with their app intentions just yet after officially releasing a dedicated weather application for iOS and Android devices, available to download now.
Although many of us treat our smartphones and tablets as consumption devices for gaming, watching movies and reading books, they are also vital hubs of information, reference and productivity. When planning the day ahead, it's always nice to be able to check the weather at a glance, but often, I find, apps and widgets don't always update as they should, and even if they do seem to be in sync with the present time, they only offer vague coverage of the surrounding town or city.
Apple's iOS weather app is functional, that's for sure. In fact, it's about the only really good thing we can say about it. It'll tell you the weather forecast for any location you ask of it, and it'll represent that forecast with some nicely drawn logos. Terrific stuff.
