The HiddenSettings7 tweak, for those that missed it, unlocks bunch of cool iOS 7 settings obscured by Apple from the view of the end user, and having been released last week, the launch has now been swiftly followed by an update complete with support for the 64-bit processor of the iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display. Further details, as well as info on where you may find HiddenSettings7 for A7, can be seen after the break.
Now that the Evasi0n7 jailbreak is starting to mature and Saurik's Cydia Substrate (formally known as MobileSubstrate) has been updated to support the latest version of iOS, we're starting to see everyone's favorite tweaks and apps get updates that make them compatible with everything that has gone on over the last week or two. Some we've been waiting for more than others, and now three of the most requested updates have arrived.
Apple's '12 Days of Gifts' initiative is in full swing, and while some people may have been disappointed with some of the apps, movies and music that have been on offer for free by the folks in Cupertino, we're supremely confident that the latest offering to be dangled in front of customers will be extremely well received.
The iOS 7 untethered jailbreak is here. Things have been a little quiet recently on the topic of a public jailbreak release, leading us all to think that it could be quite some time until we were able to see how iOS 7 performs when truly set free. The good news is that the wait is finally over. The bad news is that early discussions and word from Cydia creator Jay Freeman seem to suggest that the latest Evasi0n7 release might have been rushed out before the right people could get the necessary components in place to support users.
Tim Cook and Apple's executive team are always keen to wax lyrical about how many apps have passed through the App Store over the last five years. The majority of the company's media events heavily feature slides featuring the number of available third-party applications available and the amount of revenue that has been paid out to the developers who create and publish those apps. In the relatively short lifespan of the App Store, Apple has managed to hit, and go beyond some pretty impressive milestones. Recent data from AppsFire suggests that Apple have hit yet another notable goal by now having over one million apps live in the U.S. App Store alone.
The Android versus iOS debate is fiercely contested among experts, commentators and users alike, with both sides putting forth strong arguments as to why one is superior to the other. But while it often seems to appear as though everybody is a partisan fan of one or the other, a study by InfoScout into Black Friday spending habits has revealed that many of those who rushed out to grab the Apple iPad were in fact Android users.
Up until the latter stage of last year, Apple had been somewhat slack in its upgrading of the iPad, and even the fourth-gen model - despite its Retina display and faster CPU / GPU - wasn't deemed a particularly big leap from the iPad 2. But with the iPad mini hitting the scene last October followed by the Retina iPad mini 2 and iPad Air just recently, the iPad range is now a larger and more diverse product line.
Charging our iPhones is something that we take for granted. In fact, in a post-iOS 7 world it's something that many of us find ourselves doing much more often than we would like, and that's only going to continue with more and more apps multitasking and asking to keep track of our location in order to offer enhanced functionality. If you've ever used Google Now over an extended period of time on an iPhone, then you'll know what we mean.
Apple's iPad may be used by many of us to play games, view video clips and catch up with bits of work on-the-fly, but as the Cupertino cpmany has pointed out before, the tablet can be life-changing to some. To once again show some of the different benefits of owning an iPad, the Cupertino giant has launched a new webpage entitled "Life on iPad," highlighting a myriad of industries and situations currently taking advantage of the market-leading slate.
A very handy tip on how you can charge your iPhone, Android or iPad's battery up to 50% faster than usual to fix a problem that we've all been sufferers of when in hurry or travelling.
