We are at a crucial time in the jailbreaking community. I call this the edge of our seats situation where all eyes rest on one person, or one development team waiting for the crucial breakthrough to be made in providing a stable, distributable jailbreak. In October 2010 the communities eyes focused solely on the Chronic Dev Team as they prepared us for the release of the GreenPPois0n tool, then without warning George Hotz (a.k.a. Geohot) pipped them to the post with the last minute release of Limera1n.
Some of you may have read my post yesterday regarding a problem being suffered at the hands of people using an Apple device running iOS 3.1.3, if not then you can familiarize yourself by reading it here so that this update will make more sense. In brief, a large number of of iDevice users has reported via the Apple Support Communities forums that when attempting to access the App Store via a device running iOS 3.1.3 they were greeted with a non functioning platform. Some users experienced a total App Store black out with no functionality whatsoever, whereas some could actually download updates to already installed applications but could not browse or purchase new apps.
It's an interesting milestone for both Facebook and Google, and one that perhaps has always been on the cards, but Facebook's Android app now has more active daily users than the same app on iOS does. The news is made slightly more interesting when you remember that the Android version of the Facebook app was only made available in September of 2009 - more than 12 months after its iPhone-based cousin was made available.
Earlier this week, Facebook rolled out the new Timeline profile view worldwide for both web and Mobile web users. While the update for Android app with Timeline view was available on the same day as well, update for iOS app wasn’t, this was probably because of strict screening process that it had to go through before final approval for iTunes App Store.
Contrary to an early notion, Apple managed to deliver more than a couple of surprises when it re-released iOS 5.0.1, which was specifically seeded for iPhone 4S users suffering battery issues.
Apple has updated the firmware of its Apple TV (2G) to version 4.4.4, citing a series of negligible bug fixes as the reason behind the new release.

While we sit here with our iPads and iPhones, it is easy to forget that things were not always this way. We didn't always have the iPhone 4S with its super fast CPU and lightening integration with iOS. In fact, the name 'iOS' is something that only came around relatively recently itself.
The second beta of the new iOS 5.1 firmware has just been seeded to the registered developers of the iOS Dev Center.
If you’re a platform-agnostic smartphone enthusiast who has had extensive playtime with the iPhone, Windows Phones and Android smartphones, you’ll probably have noticed how the former two mobile operating systems offer a much more “smoother” user-experience compared to the latter’s general “choppiness”.
