Not All 4.7-inch iPhone 6 Models Will Get Sapphire Displays, But iPhone 6L Will

Ben Reid·August 29, 2014
For a while now, it has been suggested that Apple will strengthen the front panel of the upcoming iPhone 6 with sapphire glass, but while there have been conflicting reports indicating that only some variants of the impending handset would indulge, one analyst has come through with something a little more clarifying. Apparently, every single model of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6L will be laden in the clearer, more robust sapphire glass material, while only a portion of the 4.7-inch inventory will follow suit.

Ben Reid·August 28, 2014
Apple has just sent out the press invitations for the special iPhone 6 event, and as has been suspected for a number of weeks now, it will fall on September 9th. Of course, we don't yet know precisely what the tech giant has up its sleeve, but with the showcasing having now been confirmed, we won't have to wait too much longer for the big reveal.

Here’s More Evidence That iPhone 6 / 6L Will Come With NFC

Ben Reid·August 28, 2014
Apple looks poised to break several long-standing habits when it unleashes the iPhone 6 at some point in the next few weeks, and among them, the Cupertino company will apparently roll out near-field communication, or NFC. Although numerous Android vendors have offered this little piece of hardware for a good couple of generations now, Apple may finally indulge in a feature that enables, for example, the processing of mobile payments. Yet while some reports have indicated that only the larger, 5.5-inch iPhone will get NFC, a new report instead suggests that both models of iPhone 6 will be treated to this technology.

Apple To Announce iWatch Along With iPhone 6 And iPhone 6L At September 9 Event

Ben Reid·August 28, 2014
With Samsung having already rolled out a handful of smartwatches and several other companies jumping on the Android Wear bandwagon, it's strongly suspected that Apple will also come through with its first smartwatch at some point later this year. For the most part, it has been suggested that the 'iWatch' would arrive after the small matter of the iPhone 6 and iPad refresh had been resolved, but now, a very reliable source has indicated that a new wearable will also be on the agenda for September 9th.

Successor Of M7 Coprocessor For iPhone 6 Detailed In New Leak

Ben Reid·August 26, 2014
Apple's iPhone 5s mightn't have brought many changes from an aesthetic standpoint, but in terms of hardware, the Cupertino based company really upped the ante. For instance, alongside the much-improved A7 SoC, the device also included the M7 coprocessor, and with the next-gen iPhone 6 set to include an A8 chip, details of the handset's corresponding M7 have now emerged.

Two Different Designs, One iPhone 6, Which One Will Apple Unveil Come September 9?

Oliver Haslam·August 25, 2014
Yes, the iPhone 6's rumored announcement is only a couple of weeks away right now, and we've seen more leaks for this iPhone than most, but that doesn't mean that we know exactly what is on the cards for when Apple takes the covers off the next iPhone.

Uzair Ghani·August 24, 2014
We’ve come across plenty of leaks in the past few days related to a brand new Lightning cable from Apple with a reversible USB connector, which is bound to ship with the new iPhone 6. But, if today’s new leak is to be believed, then a new Lightning cable won’t be the only thing that would ship with the Cupertino’s new smartphone.

Third-Party Lightning Cable With Reversible USB Connector Already Available For Purchase

Ben Reid·August 23, 2014
Apple's Lightning cable, which was first rolled out with the iPhone 5 in place of the long-standing 30-pin offering, has made life a great deal easier for iOS device users. Not only is the Lightning connector smaller, and more robust, but it's also reversible, putting an end to the days of accidentally jamming and causing damage, but unfortunately, this issue is still prevalent at the traditional USB end. It has long since been suggested that Apple will mark the introduction of the iPhone 6 with a revised Lightning cable that will be reversible at both ends, but whether this transpires or not, there's already a third-party option available.
