Apple only made the iOS 27 software update available for download a matter of days ago, but it’s already testing iOS 27.2, and developers can now download iOS 27 beta 2 for testing.
The iOS 27.2 beta skips iOS 27.1 entirely, with that software likely the one that will power the upcoming iPhone Duo. Apple’s upcoming iOS 27.2 also brings with it some notable changes, not least a refreshed Health app.
This new app was shown off during the iPhone 18 Pro event earlier this month and is set to launch alongside iOS 27.2 next month.
This update also brings support for dual capture mode to Group FaceTime, as well as additional language support for Siri AI, adding French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Support for Apple TV app profiles also comes to the iPhone with this new update. Tweaks to the Apple Music and Podcasts apps are also present in the beta.
Apple is likely to continue beta testing the iOS 27.2 update into the first part of October, ensuring that as many bugs and issues can be addressed ahead of a release to the public.
The iPhone Duo will officially be available for preorder on October 16, with the device set to go on sale a few days later on October 23. The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable device and will start at $1,999 for the 256GB model.
