If you're of the jailbreak persuasion and know your way around the world of coding, then you may be interested to know that a new website has been opened to the public that aims to make the collaboration of jailbreak creators an easier process than it previously was.
So, it has recently come out of the woodwork that Apple will be holding a special event on September 10th. At this event, it's widely expected that Apple will release the iPhone 5S, the refresh to the aging iPhone 5, among a few other exciting products. The nature of this event is likely to be focused on iOS devices, it's almost guaranteed that we'll see the Golden Master (GM) release of Apple's new software - iOS 7 - on this date too. And if few more bugs are found, and we’re lucky enough, we might actually see another beta before the GM release.
Rockstar Games has been steadfast in its releasing of screenshots and teaser trailers for its upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5, and with just a couple of weeks left until the eagerly awaited retail date, the developer-publisher has come through with another bundle of snaps demonstrating some of the sumptuous scenery. Rockstar has already familiarized us with virtually every facet of the game including the characters, missions, weapons, vehicles, and even the GTA 5 online gameplay trailer, but these screenshots simply focus on the two main aspects of every GTA title: Crime and Leisure.
Although we'll have to wait for the official announcement before we can, without any doubt, discover whether Apple does indeed intend to bring forth a gold 'champagne' color configuration for the iPhone 5S, strong reports - backed by physical evidence - have all-but confirmed the existence of a champagne / gold iPhone 5S. Today, high quality images of the rear shell of the device have emerged directly from Apple's supply chain, and as previously suspected, it's based heavily upon the White & Silver variant of the iPhone 5, with most of the silver areas instead finished in gleaming gold.
File explorers for Android are a dime a dozen, so much so that it seems odd to be reviewing one at all, considering the wide variety of very capable choices that are available for free over at the Google Play Store. This is in part thanks to the open source nature of Android, which allows for much deeper level of access to the file system in comparison to what would otherwise require a jailbreak on Android’s major competitor, iOS. The fact that the developer community for Android is also large and active doesn’t hurt the scenario, either.
Changing hidden settings is a concept that is bound to attract any techie, no matter how mundane the settings might actually be. That’s because the basic idea of playing around with something that’s otherwise inaccessible is catchy to the geeky mind, and the challenge that it poses is sure to intrigue. For smartphones and tablets, this applies even more, because these are devices that we almost invariably use on a daily basis, and like to carry with us at all times.
Although most of Apple's products, barring the almighty new Mac Pro, are produced in China, the world's most populous nation usually has to wait many months before the Cupertino's products see an official release. According to China's First Financial Daily, this won't be changing any time soon, with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C - both set to be announced on September 10th - apparently not arriving to the Chinese market until November 28th.
Sony may well be a long-established maker of premium tech products, but in the smartphone industry, it remains one of a number of companies playing catch-up with Samsung. Following on from the water-resistant Xperia Z, the so-called Sony Honami smartphone has been rumored for quite a while, and today, the Japanese company has delivered a couple of teaser snaps via Twitter in an attempt to build up some sort of hype. With a 5-inch display, the Honami is certainly edging towards phablet territory, and with the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 for company, it will be intriguing to see whether Sony's latest export will fare better than the last few.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be retiring in the next twelve months, according to an official announcement from Microsoft. Ballmer, who succeeded Bill Gates at the turn of the millennium, will continue as the Redmond outfit's chief for the foreseeable future, as the company begins the hunt for his replacement.
It seems that Apple is well and truly embracing the beta testing spirit at the moment. Having to internally handle all those pre-release bundles and keeping everything in check is clearly proving too easy for the Apple whizzes as they have now opened up the iWork for iCloud beta to any productivity loving individual who happens to have a valid Apple ID.
