The advancement of cameras within smartphones has prompted a wave of wannabe photographers, and with a seemingly endless list of apps available for said individuals to hone their new-found skills in the point-and-shoot department, mobile device owners are rather spoilt for choice. In terms of app categories, the photography section of the App Store is perhaps the most heavily loaded, and no matter what kind of snap you're trying to achieve, there's bound to be at least one hundred apps vying for your attention. But if you're hunting for something that can take burst shots like no other, then you needn't look farther than the appropriately entitled SnappyCam.
iOS has seen quite a few changes over the past few iterations, but while some, such as iMessage, have been every bit the success, other implementations feel somewhat unfinished, and it's fair to say that the multitasking feature is a prime example of this. The process of killing apps in iOS 6 makes us wonder whether Apple indeed intended to make things as cumbersome as possible, but joining the growing list of tweaks to help enhance this feature is AppSwiper, a new entry to the Cydia Store that turns the system on its head.
Apple today has dropped two versions of iTunes, one is the final public version of iTunes 11.0.5, and the second is iTunes 11.1 beta 2 which is a dev-only seed. Check out the full change log after the jump.
Over the course of the iPhone's existence, we've pretty much heard every single type of rumor that it's possible for people to come up with. Large screen sizes, different color variants, budget devices and the possibility of a convex home button to provide a little additional component space for a fingerprint sensor. However, today's emergence of the possibility of a champagne / gold colored iPhone 5S is definitely up there with the unexpected speculative topics. It may seem a little unlikely to some, but newly leaked images that show purported parts of the sparkling device add more fuel to the growing fire.
According to rumor, Sony is looking to make a significant impression upon the smartphone photography market, and along with the recent news that the Japanese outfit could be plotting a new flagship handset capable of shooting 4K video, we also recently heard about the company's endeavor to bring a series of camera attachments to the fore. The Sony Carl Zeiss lens attachment would simply clip onto the back of a smartphone and, in turn, deliver a DSLR-like high-end shooting experience. Now, the two lenses in question - the QX10 and QX100 - have had their specs leaked online, along with the news that the official unveiling could take place on September 4th.
Although we love our smartphones, tablets, notebooks and common gadgets here at Redmond Pie, we do occasionally like to feature some out-of-the-ordinary toys for no other reason than sheer coolness. The AR. Drone 2.0 Power Edition is exactly that, and with a price of eighty bucks more than the standard version, you get quite a bit more bang - or should we say, blade - for your buck.
Phablet fans will undoubtedly already have September 4th penciled into their diaries, for it is the date when Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 3. But while we're pretty sure the device will borrow its design (and a large portion of its hardware) from the flagship Galaxy S4, the prospect of the Korean company unveiling its very first smart watch effort has us even more excited. The so-called Galaxy Gear, which would be the first smart watch to market from any of the 'big' names in tech, remains rather elusive, but based upon some early patent drawings, T3 has come up with a rather beautiful concept of the wearable gizmo.
When it comes to rumors pertaining an upcoming Apple product, it would seem that everybody has something to say. But only certain voices tend to really matter when this topic is brought up, and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is one such individual. Talking of the soon-to-be-announced iPhone 5S, it appears that Kuo subscribes to the notion that the device will be offered in a third, 'champagne' gold color configuration, and on top of that, he also believes the handset will see a 128GB model.
When it comes to popular gaming franchises, Call of Duty always seems to leave competitors in its wake. We're coming up to that point of the year again when Activision drops its latest blockbuster, and this time around, CoD fans are gearing themselves up for the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts. On a day that has seen much by way of game-related announcements, Activision and Infinity Ward have collectively announced that the special, Prestige Edition of the upcoming title will include an added extra in the form of a 1080p action camera. More details can be found right after the break!
Every once in a while, there comes a new idea that truly makes consumers go crazy over the product that has been delivered (or proposed, for that matter). Ubi Interactive, a company that has no link whatsoever to Ubisoft, by the way, has come up with the new application that works in conjunction with Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox, and has the ability to convert any flat surface into a virtual “touch-screen” that works with a projector.
