Ben Reid·March 26, 2014
Often, when hitting certain milestones, Apple likes to make a bit of fanfare about its achievements. But while the 50 billionth iTunes download prompted a countdown that resulted in some great prizes for one lucky individual, Apple recently sold its 500 million iPhone without so much as a press release.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Waterproof Test [VIDEO]

Oliver Haslam·March 25, 2014
When Samsung announced its Galaxy S5 hero phone we were more than a little skeptical. Not because we doubt that it will sell like crazy worldwide, nor because we think that Samsung's continued reliance on plastic will see existing Galaxy S fans switch allegiances elsewhere. What we really weren't too sure about was the claim that the Galaxy S5 will feature an IP67 rating for both dust and water resistance.

HTC One (M8) Officially Announced: Specs, Release Date, Price [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·March 25, 2014
After quite a lengthy build-up, the all new HTC One (M8) is finally upon us. Even though we knew most of the details thanks to a spate of pre-announcement leaks, HTC has still revealed a couple of interesting tidbits in its simultaneous showcasing in New York and London, and we've got all of the details coming up after the jump!

LG Posts New Photo Of Its Android Wear Powered G Watch Smartwatch

Ben Reid·March 25, 2014
Last week, Google announced Android Wear, a tailored version of its popular firmware built specifically for the emerging smartwatch market. Following the announcement, which was accompanied by the release of the Android Wear SDK Developer Preview, both Motorola and LG swiftly announced their forthcoming devices to the on-looking tech world. Since then, we've seen much of the former Google-owned Motorola's Moto 360, but haven't been treated to nearly as much coverage of the Korean company's G Watch, and so to stem the tide, LG's UK Twitter page has just shared a new pic of its wrist-worn gadget, as well as a reminder that the device is "coming soon."

Apple Adds 3D Views Of Three New Cities To Its Maps App

Oliver Haslam·March 25, 2014
When Apple decided to ditch Google Maps as its iOS mapping software of choice it caused quite the stir. With Google's mapping technology almost ubiquitous at this point, and with us all being so familiar with it, the thought of losing it on iOS was rather worrisome. As it turned out we didn't have to wait too long before Google brought Maps to iOS as a standalone app, but all the hooks inside iOS still point to Apple Maps, for better or for worse.

Download Official Galaxy S5 Firmware Right Now! [Leaked ROM]

Ben Reid·March 25, 2014
We're about two-thirds of the way through our countdown of the Samsung Galaxy S5 from announcement to release, and even though we've had plenty of opportunity to see and read of what's in store, we're now starting to get leaks of the official software to try out for ourselves. Samsung may have pushed the Galaxy S5 Experience app over to the Google Play Store last week, but while this demo is insightful, there's nothing quite experiencing the device and its features first-hand. If you're not among the lucky few to have gotten hold of the device earlier than billed, then an official ROM leak, intended for the Chinese version of the SM-G9009D, has to be the next best thing.

iOS 8 Healthbook App Concept Shows How It Will Sync Using iWatch [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·March 25, 2014
In the past couple of weeks, we've been hearing quite a bit about Apple's supposed Healthbook endeavors with iOS 8. The app, which will supposedly be structured in a similar manner to which Passbook currently operates in terms of its card-like user interface, is to be a one-stop solution for iOS users looking to focus on health, fitness and wellbeing. Although there's been no word on if, or even how said feature may integrate with Apple's ever-rumored 'iWatch' plans, one concept maker has thrown together an interesting video of how Healthbook may harness the power of iWatch to deliver a complete experience.

iPhone 5c Sold More Units Than Android, Windows Phone Flagships Last Christmas

Ben Reid·March 25, 2014
The iPhone 5c has been cited by many as a failure, but while the device is assumed not to have sold in as high a number as Apple might have liked, recent predictions from analysts based upon official financial info made available by the Cupertino suggests that the device has actually fared rather well. Even though Apple hasn't offered a breakdown of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sales, preferring to release figures under the general, 'iPhone' umbrella, analysts have done their homework and found that over the holiday period of 2013, the iPhone 5c outsold many of the market's flagship handsets.
