Hot on the heals of a refresh for its TV and set top box interfaces, Netflix has announced via a blog post that it is in the midst of a “makeover” of the selection of user profile icons that are on offer.

The refresh will mean that users will have dozens of new options to choose from based on Netflix shows including Orange is the new Black, Stranger things and more.

In total, Netflix says that there will be more than 100 icons to choose from, allowing users to customize their user profiles in ways far beyond those that are currently available. Those include a man with sunglasses and a penguin, neither really filling us with excitement.

The idea of having a profile picture from our favorite show however? That’s much more like it.

Profiles are key to creating a highly personalized Netflix experience. By watching on your own profile, we can showcase suggestions for TV shows and movies we’re sure you won’t want to miss. We’re always working to make it easier for our members to connect with stories they’ll love and creating your profile is the first step. If you don’t have one yet, we highly suggest you make one — and personalize it with an icon like Luke Cage, Crazy Eyes, or another one of your favorite characters.

Netflix says that the new icons will be popping up on its website, mobile apps and TV apps “over the next few weeks” which means you might not see them just yet, but if you keep checking when you’re next settling in for that next binge session it might be worth checking to see if the updates profiles pictures are ready and waiting for you.
